Question about Epson Stylus CX3200 All-In-One InkJet Printer
[Epson CX3200 "All-in-One" dual-cartridge Inkjet] 1)While "Turning on this device" 2)This error message appears: "Printer error ---> See your documentation and call service if necessary" 3)On-light state: ON 4)Error-light state: ON -Powering off/on doesn't resolve it -Powering on initiates the usual head-positioning and paper-size display message before the above error message appears -Removing either (or both) ink cartridge produces the appropriate "missing cartridge" error message (thus its ability to distinquish regular error cinditions is somewhat intact)
Did what you said downloaded the Epson Utility...reset my counters......turned the PRINTER OF and then ON while holding down the Red stop button and the Green colour button at the same time...hey presto......printer works good as new...
Its criminal that Epson makes your printer fail based on the number of copies you do even tho there is no fault with the printer in the first case !!
Do you know if there is a Utility for the Epsom sx400 that i have been foced to buy due to my Red Light fault with the CX3200...cant see it on the download..??

Please go to my website http://www.the-inkstore.co.uk . I have the latest version of SSC Service Utility to download directly onto your computer and instructions on how to use it, what to click on etc etc. Click any of the Epson links if you can't find it, everything you need to know will be there, including printer Firmware resetting which sorts out a multitude of problems.
The 'maintenance required' problem with Epson printers has absolutely nothing to do with which cartridges you are using, it is a built in page counter in your printer firmware, which has a different maximum amount for each Epson model. Don't listen to old wives tales and heresay, we are the experts and it's an Epson scam to cause a lot of people to pay for maintenance or throw their printers away.
I haven't found a model that can't be reset with the latest version of SSC Serve or the manual reset on my site.
For Epson RX500 users there is also a manual reset on my site, as the SSC Serve software won't do it for you.
When using the program & choosing your printer from the list, it may have a weird name with 'x' in the model number, this is because some configurations are for many models in a series. For example, the C46 will be listed as C4x as it is for the C42, C44 & C46 models.
I hope this helps all Epson users to overcome the Epson scam of page counting and locking out until you pay their dealers money for maintenance.
If you like what I've done for Epson users, please show your appreciation by spreading the word and perhaps buying your ink from my site.
Happy trouble free printing

From reading posts in the ssclg website mentioned above it seems Epson set counters that ensure your printer stops working after a certain number of copies so they can "service" it (or get you to replace it). When you download the utility mentioned above, read the help file. (Right click the icon in the tray to get it up.) It will tell you which buttons to press when, so that the counters are reset, and hey presto - your printer will be working just fine again.Search for your printer model number on the ssclg website to read others' similar experiences. I'm betting that, just like the rest of us, your printer doesn't actually have a problem at all. After pressing 3 buttons, mine is fne gain.

Hi MrBean, I?m assuming you?ve already tried the basics: -checked to make sure the transportation lock wasn?t engaged. -unplug it for a few minutes then restart. For reference for anyone else trying to diagnose a CX3200 issue Epson has an automated wizard to assist: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/erscripts/start_er.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=14082 Unfortunately I didn?t find anything that matched exactly what you describe; however, I did find several references to this error message being associated with refilling cartridges and using non-Epson ink. Apparently the design of the print head can cause issues with non-Epson ink. If this printer is still under warranty I would contact Epson and go that route. If its out of warranty and you want to live on the wild side there are a few utilities that can reset ink counters and the protection counter. Here is the utility: http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml Sorry I couldn?t get you more info but sometimes that?s the way it goes. If you have any more info or symptoms to pass on let us know and please don?t forget to rate the posting.
