First, make sure that if your iTunes version is high enough to fit the version of your iPhone. About charging, I think it means the output current of your charger is to low to charge and run your iPhone at the same time. This case is most like that, when a iPad 2 link to PC it won't charge when the scree is on. If you are using digital products frequently, you can try to get a dual USB output external power supple, which hold on 2 type of output current 1A for common cell phone, 2.1 A for iPad, Pad PC and some device which need high charge current
Before you can charge your iPhone on the computer, your computer needs to install the drivers for it. You might have to reinstall the drivers for it. A good way to check if the drivers are incorrectly installed is to see if iTunes detects it. Try updating your iTunes since the old version of iTunes won't work with ios6 and all iPhone 5 are shipped with ios6

You can use iTunes to back up your iPhone. In this manner you can always go back to restore your device if you factory reset your iPhone. If you don't have the iTunes on your computer here is the link where you can download it.
Hi Mark,
I suggest contacting manufacturer by snail mail. When you do so, your problem won't end up in a spam folder, unseen by those who can rectify problem. Worth a stamp because good chance manufacturer will actually respond by sending you brand new product free of charge. Many don't want to go through this "trouble" ; however, businesses are quite competitive (more than you may think!). No business that makes millions wants to lose a good customer + his/her family members & friends for a "drop in the bucket" money amount in order to keep you and other customers.

This isn't an iTunes problem. While the iPod is displaying this logo, you need to plug it in to a computer that has iTunes open beforehand.
Try using another computer with iTunes installed, or another USB cable for the iPod. Try to restart by holding the sleep and home buttons for about 10 seconds.
If this still doesn't work, take the iPod to your local Apple store, where they can check for any hardware problems that may have occurred.
Your phone is locked kindly go to the mechanic and opened the lock , if your cell phone is unlocked then only you can use other wise your phone is gone bad
