Im trying to search for my new HS-36w but getting 'no device found'. im not sure what i need to do with the headset in order to prepare it for the initial pairing beside opening it. anyone?

Press and hold the On/Off button until the blue light flashes, then search for your headset.
This is to initiate the headset for pairing, otherwise it hides from other phones to prevent unintended pairing.

if your cell phone has the above features then follow the undermentioned steps.
you need to search for the device by starting a new search after switching on the bluetooth and make sure that the bluetooth headset BH-104 is switched on.
once the search is completed and your device is found then pair it.
Set as default audio unit to "USB audio device", because Genius HS-03U control the volume only sound device by default. Headphones
improperly trying to adjust the volume of "alien" audio devices, such as

if you can pair this device go to paring mode by pressing the answer/end key and the volume up( +) key at the same time over 5 seconds until the blue indicator light lights up.
