Player hangs at initialization screen

I just bought today, everything was working fine until i turned it off. When I restart it, it just hung... at initialization screen. I tried pressing all buttons, tried connecting to computer through usb, tried changing batteries. I tried all possible methods to find a solution, but nothing worked. So last resort is to go & return it to futureshop where I bought it from & maybe get an exchange & hoping it won't happen on the next one I buy... Anybody know a solution please let me know. Thanks

Mine lasted about a month then froze in the "Finalizing update" screen. From what I've been reading, the quality of this player has taken a dive.

Screen freeze

if you're capable of taking off the back of the device,
where the battery is most likely located,
do so and remove the battery.
that should automatically shut it off.
make sure the battery and where it's supposed to be in the mp3 is clean.

put the battery back in, and put everything else back together.
try turning it on.
if this helps, EXCELLENCE!
if not, then you should probably just call the company

Games sometimes play, then won't load, black screen.

try to make sure that the resolution and connections are appropriate for your screen at your home. if these settings are alreay correct then you should probably just return the system and try to get one from somewhere like amazon or ebay. sorry. Hope you get a good ps3!

Boot hung up

The NIC is fine, however it hangs because it is searching the network for boot information. This NIC's boot timeout is a lot longer than most.

Stuck in language mode

Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

Pb for my sandisk m230 mp3 player

Same thing happened to me... try this...
1) disconnect all cables
2) turn power on (hold menu button until screen lights up)
3) Press "menu"
4) scroll down to "settings"
5) scroll down to "USB"
6) select "MSC" (default is probably auto detect - which I think there's a conflict with)
7) turn power off (holding the menu button down)
8) connect USB to computer and hopefully start loading files

I bought 2 of the 512 models, one didn't work... so I took it back and had to buy a 2gig model... got home and it didn't work! I tried the above for the new one and at least the computer recognizes it! Everything seems to work fine...for now...

Freezing

These units are noted for this problem. They cannot be fixed. I bought to for Christmas presents and after 2 days one was stuck on the "Initialization" Screen. Went back to Circuit & exchanged them both because there was a major hardware/firmware upgrade on the new ones. After about a week, same problem. Now I'm just going to return them. You can only return it or throw it away.
