Question about Harman Kardon AVR 510 Receiver

1 Answer

Shuts off about 5 sec. after i turn it on

My AVR510 shuts off about 5 sec. after i turn it on. I should tell tou a little more about the original problem. It had been humming louder and louder over the last few months and video also had some rolling noise. I opened it up and found a Cap (6800uf 16v) with an almost blown top.I replaced it.(c487) Now it powers up for only 5 secounds then shuts itself down. In that 5 secounds for the last 2 secounds you can see video and hear a little sound before it shuts down. It was very easy to replace the cap. and i double checked the polarity . I went over a few questionable solder joints too. At least the hum is gone. I tried the reset too, didnt do any good. thanks Dan

I have what seems to be the exact same "power shut-down" problem, but in my case I have used the AVR510 very little since originally buying it years ago. I finally purchased a Sony Bravia with speakers, set it all up, and wham...can't get the AVR power to stay on. If you find a solution let me know.

Hi. I have a Hayward H350FDN pool heater that is Doing this: • Turn on and Temp at 65 • On for 3 1/2 min then shuts down • Restarts and then on for 5 min, shuts down • Restarts and then on for 2 min,...

it almost sounds like the temperature sensor is in the wrong place. that or the flow is inadequate for the heater to run. if you have a sand filter, put it on 'whirlpool' or 'recirculate' and try to run the heater.

Sanyo DP32640 LCD TV volume will suddenly spike to full, last 3-4 secs., shuts down, restarts at the original settings, holds 5-10 mins., repeats at 5-15 min. intervals

Set has a poltergeist in its main board where you have the setting electronics. Prices have dropped to such a point on this size set that it is simply not worth a repair.

Unit comes on for 2-5 sec. then shuts down

Probably has lost convergence chips and fuses. But keep in mind--these sets often get a LOT of capacitor problems and fulid leakage problems too--so be aware of this.

2003 Jetta, starts and shuts off after 5-10 sec.

i think you have to have the fuel pump checked. it seems that its not pumping enough gas to the engine so it shuts off after burning the remaining fuel in the line.

Shuts off after 5 sec

Open the menu and see if there is a power saver feature, if there is then turn it off. If that isnt it then reply.
