Question about Samsung LTM1775W 17 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

TV won't turn on

I have the Samsung LTM1775W LCD and have recently run into the problem of when I turn off the TV for more than 5 minutes it won't turn back on. When I attempt to turn it back on the power light simply flashes yellow and never turns to green to allow the picture to show again. I had been able to fix the problem by unplugging the TV for 30 minutes or more then plugging it back in. After this, the TV would still flash yellow for a couple of hours but then eventually stop flashing. Once it stopped flashing I was able to turn the TV on again normally. As of last week I've had no such luck. We've been flashing yellow for 6 days even after unplugging for several hours. Any thoughts on how I can fix this? more info: We recently moved to a new home and upgraded to Digital Cable. We've had the problem since moving into the new house. Cable company says its a TV problem since we are getting a signal from the cable box (and cable is working when I hook up a non-HD tube based set), but I've checked all the connections and can't figure it out. Any help is appreciated.

I have a 65 inch Samsung LCD. 5 years old. Recently if tv is on for over an hour and I turned it off. It won't turn on unless I unplug TV.

If its a LCD set and over 6 yrs old made by Samsung it would might some Cap-xon capacitors in the power supply that were prone to failure, replace the PS board or you could repair it yourself for under $5.00 if your handy with a solder iron and have some general electronic skills...Good luck

Bad news, the LCD panel in your tv is going bad, call Samsung and complain about the problem, it is a manufacturing defect. It would cost more than a new TV to replace the "panel" or LCD screen. Good luck.
