Cant get into windows at all

I have an acer aspire T120E-8830 and everytime i load it up it asks if i want to open in safe mode, safemode with networking, safemode with command prompt, start windos normally or use the last good configuration

however when i choose any of the safemode options it throws up a long list still with a black screen and each line starts with something like MULTI DISK PARTITION and each line lists different filepaths

when i try using the last good configuration it loads up and begins a disk check once the check is complete it locks up and freezes on that screen (ive left it for 12 hours and its still stuck on that screen)

if i try to start windows normally it loads up, no disk check but goes thru to a blank black screen and locks up there

anything i can do to get this computer back in working order?

You might try turning your floppy drive off if you have one.

Setup is starting services

Hi,

First try to check if you can log to your computer via Safe Mode, if you can then there is a few possible things happened to your computer:
1. Corrupted software installation that is messing up with your startup services.
2. Hardware problem (memory or bad sector in the hard disk)
3. Or Operating system or malware.

Anyway for the step to test if you can log in via Safe mode try the steps below:
Reference: Safemode
Open Safe Mode with the F8 key

All Windows versions can be booted into Safe Mode by this method. Note that it is somewhat tricky to time this procedure and it may take several attempts.

1. Turn on or restart your computer.
2. Hold down the F8 key before the Windows logo appears. If the computer makes a complaining noise, tap the F8 key repeatedly instead of holding it down.
3. If a Windows logo or "Windows starting" appears, wait until Windows loads. Then restart the computer and try pressing F8 again.
4. Once you are successful, a menu will appear with a number of boot options. Use an arrow key to navigate to "Safe Mode" and press the Enter key.

Trying to get to Safe Mode by using the F8 key can be frustrating and there is another way that uses the System Configuration Utility (msconfig).

My computer screen turns blue and restarts window vista

Hi jjlishus,

I see you mentioned that you are having issues with you computer going into a blue screen then it restarts.

You can try to boot into safe mode to see if Windows Vista will Load without having the bluescreen and if it will not shut down or restart, from Safe Mode, try and do a system restore to a data where the problem has not happened yet.

From there-on see if the issue will still happen or no

Getting into Safemode:
restart PC keep on tapping F8 on your Keyboard this will prompt you options, Look for Safemode then press enter this should bring up the safemode screen.

If during the loading of safemode and still happens are any error show up or it goes to a blue screen, you can try going into safemode with command prompt.
to get to safemode in command prompt just do the same as ging into safemode and select safemode in command prompt.

once in the command prompt
Type CHKDSK , then press enter it should check the system for 5 mins or so depending on your PC/Laptops speed.

if still the issue is the same reformatting or restoring your windows back to defaults may fix the issue.

I hope that this will help,

Hello, I have an Acer Aspire 5532 and the battery died while it was unplugged. Usually I just plug it up and press the power button and it will ask if I want to load Windows (normally, safe mode, etc.). I...

hi,

Try the below steps:

Shutdown the computer and Restart it, as soon as it restarts keep on tapping F8 key, now select, "Last Good Known Configuration" and hit "Enter" key. It should take care of the issue. If not, then boot the computer to "Safemode", to do so, restart the computer and as soon as it restarts keep on tapping F8 key, now select "Safemode" from the Advance boot menu. If it is booting to Safemode, then perfomr a system restore to previous date. If nothing happens, then you have to perfomr a full system restore.

I cant get my computer to fully boot up

This might happen if you install McAfee with applications running, or not restarting Windows, etc. I am not sure why you couldn't boot in Safemode, booting in safemode is exactly what you need to do to uninstall McAfee.

PC freezes on boot-up

Try booting the thing in Safe Mode. Upon startup (after the Acer logo goes) press F8 several times. You will be offered a menu select Safe Mode (at the very top of the list). If the system reaches the desktop, you can repair your Windows. For the three fixes below you will need to go Start Menu>Run...
1) Write: fixmbr, and press ENTER.
2) Write: fixboot, and press ENTER.
3) Write: chkdsk, and press ENTER.
(The later will take several minutes, but you can read what stage it is doing).
