Just recently our TV, conveniently a couple weeks after our 1 year warranty expired, has a predominately red hue across the screen that flashes. When the screen is black you can see the red flashing really easy. We looked inside of the TV and we can see the red bulb flickering. Does that mean the bulb needs to be replaced and if so does anyone know how much and where to purchase them? Thanks Aimee
No, this could mean a loose connection on crt board(red of course) Look also and check to see if lines going to board are connected correctly. If nothing, then there could be something trying to short itself out on crt board. look for burnt resistors and bad capacitors.

I have the exact same problem on my Hitachi rear projection HDTV. It too is just over 1 year old. Did you find the reason for this? I can find no solution so i'm hoping that you did and can help me.
