SOURCE: While trying to print using legal size paper in my

Let's go through the steps necessary to print legal from the Manual Paper Feeder on the Dell 3100cn.

1. The MPF has no Auto paper size detection as the paper drawers do. When you slide legal paper ALL THE WAY into the MPF, you should see a prompt on the LCD to set the size and type. The size, of course, needs to be set to Legal. If this is plain paper, set the type to Plain.

2. The Program/Application (File / Page Setup) must have the page layout/size set to Legal

3. After you select Print (File / Print; NOT quick print) from the Program/Application, the print dialog screen should open. Select Printing Preferences to ensure the paper source is set to AUTO (or MPF)

Let's start here and move on if these suggestions do not solve your problem. I am using this as a basis to figure out what you have setup and what we may need to look at next in order to provide you a solution. Let me know if you require additional assistance.

I cannot figure out where to load legal sized paper into our Dell 3130cn printer? Can anyone assist me?

The handfeed tray normally opens from the front by pulling down on it. You can load any type of paper in this tray. Good luck.

Dell 3110 cn has full paper tray but keeps giving the following error code " Load Tray 1 0240965- A4" . I have taken the paper out twice and reloaded it. I also tried turning the printer off for...

The paper may not be 'lifting' as you push the paper tray in.

Open the front 'door' of the printer, remove the toners, so that you get a clear view of the paper tray. Is the paper in contact with the pickup rollers ?

The paper tray lift mechanism can wear and there is a small plastic component that can break. Replacing the paper tray will probably do the trick and fixe this.

Whenever a print job is sent to my dell 3100cn laser printer, ?Load tray 1? appears in the small window of the printer. I loaded the tray several times but it doesn?t work. Please guide me through the...

You sent a paper size different of the requested by the printer. Just load the requested size or delete the spool.
Some PDF downloaded from internet has A4 or 8,5x11", maybe is requesting one of this sizes.

If you can not delete this message, delete the spool using the printer manual in the control panel of the printer.

Error 241.1 Paper Jam. I have reseated the tray

Brand New T652n lexmark printer get a paper jam every time! just opened and haven't been able to print one paper. Doesn't matter if you print from tray one or tray two. It gets stuck right after the rollers pick it up and try to send it to the toner. Any suggestions? I've tried to reseat the toner, plain paper, sized the paper correctly, I've tried just about everything I can think of! I can feed paper manually through the top tray, and it will print. But, just using the manual tray defeats the purpose of the other two trays. Anyone else having this issue?

How to print with the legal paper?

Hi,
follw the given step and check-
1-Before printing your document, be sure the page size is set to legal paper. Go to "File> Page Setup" and then click on the "Paper Size" tab. Select "Legal" from the drop-down menu.

2-Go to the printer and take out the paper tray. Remove the letter size paper.

3-Insert about one half of the package of legal size paper into the tray, depending on the depth of your tray. Larger printers can accept an entire package, while smaller ones cannot.

4-Make sure that the paper goes underneath the metal clips located at both the front and back of the tray.

5-For printers that don't have a tray, you'll have to manually feed the legal size paper. Locate the paper feed either on the front or rear of the printer.

6-Put a few sheets of legal size paper into the paper feed. The paper should be placed as close to the rubber spindles as possible. These spindles will draw the paper into the machine and feed it through the printer.

7-Print a test page.

Thanks,

Dell 3000cn keep getting load mpf when i try to print but there is paper in the tray. how do I get it to recognize the paper. I've changed nothing on the computer but this just started to happen! please...

I have a Dell 3010n myself, and a few times I did run into that "Load MPF" issue.
1.) Before printing a document, please check and see the properties. i.e. Kind/type of paper, which tray, or if printing envelopes or any other document than a regular 8 x11 paper. Putting all the tray and paper type selection on "Auto" can be very helpful.
2.) On the printer itself, there is a menu button where you can configure the type of paper, i.e. regular 20 llb. copy/print paper, glossy photopaper, thicker paper - after you place a fresh load on the paper tray and slide it in, usually it will ask you which type of paper you just loaded. Make sure it is the same settings as the document that you are trying to print: i.e. if document settings on computer was set to print on photopaper and you have regular paper on the tray, the printer will do a "Load MPF".
The paper sensor on it is amazingly (for a Dell, that is) sensitive and it can differentiate across a lot of paper types/thickness. If you have several computers and user across a network, and there are several paper-type settings done on the printer itself, this "Load MPF" issue will present itself more often.
In my case, it's simply because the person who recently changed the paper-type to glossy cover paper from some user who previously printed to a transparency forgot to revert MPF/Tray 1 to regular copy/print paper. Most cases, the printer setting on the PC has been left to print on to a transparency by default, so even if I stack the tray with copy paper to the hilt, it still will do "Load MPF".
