Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

SOURCE: when trying to transfer pictures

Your PC is not recognizing the camera... most likely because the appropriate Kodak driver is not installed. Download "KODAK EASYSHARE Software" from the following web page...

http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/downloads/dln_ekn032551.jhtml?pq-path=9351/9352

Make sure you choose the right OS eg. XP

How do I get my pictures off my internal memory of my camera?

To transfer pics to your computer you will need to install the Kodak EasyShare software (you can download it at www.Kodak.com) and connect the camera to the computer via USB cable or a camera dock. To delete the photos press the Review button and then the Delete button. The camera will give you the option of deleting everything or a single pic.
