Bad Reception..... I have a pro 96 digital scanner, for the dept I work for I carry a minitor 4 for alerts, or to listen to county dispatches for fire. We and most of surrounding county is on a trunk system from police/fire, even the road dept.. I have noticed that my minitor is alot clearer while my scanner has alot of static, and is a split second or two behind, and cuts completly out while transmitting.. Is their an antenna booster or a better antenna I can use for this.. its a portable hand held. Do they make antennas more powerful, or better than the other... I know this can receive better than it is... and I assume its the antenna? Is their something like a booster than can be added?. Thanks for your thoughts ~Dave

Where can I find the frequencies for BC60XLT for Chippewa county, Wisconsin. Thank you.

I can suggest some resources that you can use to find the frequencies you're looking for.
One option is to check the website of the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office or the local government website for information on radio frequencies used by their departments. Another option is to visit the website of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and use their online database to search for radio frequencies assigned to Chippewa County.
You can also try searching for online forums or groups of radio enthusiasts or scanner hobbyists that may have information on frequencies used in the Chippewa County area.
It's important to note that you may need a license or permission to use certain frequencies, and it's always a good idea to check local regulations and guidelines before using any radio equipment.

I have a uniden bearcat scanner and cant pick up my local police dept. I put the frequency in and still dont hear anything. I have a bc145xl 16 channel scanning radio and want to know if its compatible...

If you programmed the correct frequency, you should be getting reception. Check www.RadioReference.com to verify the frequency. Otherwise, you may be too far from the transmitter to receive signals. Try your scanner in other locations, check your antenna, and try receiving the PD on another scanner.

The MARCS - Ohio Multi-Agency Radio Communications system - is a Motorola Type II SmartZone Omnilink Trunking system that utilizes APCO-25 digital transmissions. Your BC145XL is not compatible with trunking or digital systems. In order to follow the MARCS you will need one of the following scanners:
GRE PSR-500, PSR-600
Radio Shack PRO-106, PRO-197, PRO-96, PRO-2096
Uniden BC250D, BC785D, BC296D, BC796D, BCD396T, BCD396T, BCD996T, BCD996XT, or the brand new HomePatrol-1

Hi my pro 96 scanner recieves nearby stations poorly

If you're talking about a digital trunked system with multiple towers or a simulcast system, then 'welcome to the club'. I have the same problem, but that only applies to digital trunked multisite P25 9600 baud systems. Everything else should be clear. What band are you trying to listen to: VHF Lo, VHF Hi, UHF, 800MHz, analog or digital? RS's more expensive antenna will give you better reception on VHF over the 'stock' rubber antenna that they give you. Let me know what you're trying to hear, and I can help more on this issue. Okay?

Please provide the way to program weather alert for Lewis Co TN

Click this website-http://www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/CntyCov/nwrTN.htm. Your county has 4 frequency channels, so you will have to try the channels on your radio and the one that receives the best reception, is the one that you should listen to.

Need police channels for butler mo

http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?ctid=1485 Make note of radio reference.com......This is probably the best resource for frequencies in the United States - and it's free! It is particularly helpful with info on digital trunking and how to program your pro 96 for your specific area. Where I live in Wake County, North Carolina EVERYTHING is now trunked digitally and I found radio reference very helpful.....Happy scan ning!
