Here the 3 step simple solution (1) Turn off your printer (2) Put one plain nice A4 paper at entrance of the back roller.(3) Turn ON your printer *The printer will start moving your cartridge and also all the roller. The plain paper you put in then will be rolled out. If anything stuck at the roller, the plain paper will clean it out for you. After that your printer will be OK and the LED panel will show "1"

Open the printer cover and check the left side wheel black belt whether it is loss or not if loss than tighten the motor with which the belt attached cause some time the motor come front by printing pressure for what the hole wheels assembly can’t lode the paper for which much strength needed.

Erm...i also encountered this type of problem b4...what i do is i put the paper inside so that it could be rolled when the printer turn...then when the printer start rolling the paper, i hold the paper half so that it can't move out until the roller stop...then the led start blinking and ask for removing the jammed paper...so i pull out the paper from the printer manual and press color button...then the printer will be back to normal...method that i done was make the paper really jammed even though it was not jammed

Try this one...dissect the printer be sure you know how to put it back. their is a spring near the waste pads. I think it is a part of the gear assembly. These spring with gear sometimes loose. you will have to put it back, (note: if the spring is still aligned) if not....change the spring with the gear. Hope this one will help someone......AGB_ZHEED

SOURCE: paper jam problem in pixma mp145. E3 error.

MP160 PIXMA paper feed jam E3 error. I completely solved this on my Canon MP160 printer but it is a common problem and the fix may work for others such as MP130 MP140 MP145 MP150 MP170 or MP180. With the problem I had, the printer would make the usual motor whirring noises but would not feed the paper. The usual c-clunk sound that indicated the feed roller has been engaged was not there. The screen warning said to remove jammed paper and the printer showed an E3 error.

The problem was caused by the ink cartridge carrier becoming stcky on its track and not fully returning to the rest position on the right side (as viewed from the front). The fix involved taking the printer apart and lubricating the cartridge carrier track and the ramps that lift the cradle that rises to cover the printheads. Unfortunately you have to dismantle the printer and separate the scanner unit to get to the lubrication points. Its not a quick fix.

When you have the printer apart you will see a prominent white lever held by a coiled spring just behind the rest position of the ink cartridge carrier. The lever is actuated by the ink cartridge carrier when it moves to the right. If the lever is not actuated, the motor drive will never engage the large grey feed roller and the paper in the hopper cannot be fed into the printer. Make sure to also put some lube onto the lever at the point where it is struck by the ink cartridge carrier.

SOURCE: paper jam (e3) BUT no paper jam

make sure you open all check points, if yours has a rear feed through, look in there also. it only takes a tiny piece of paper to cause it to say that. use a flash light, have had to use one to find several that way.

Paper jam problem in pixma mp145. E3 error.

hi
just recently had these problems
symptoms:
LED flashing E3 code and alarm light was solid. But dissapeared when opened the coved and came back on when closed the cover.
Also the when the cover was open the inks did not slide out to the left and stayed to the right side.
There was no paper jam, but error said paper jam.

Solution:
1. I took a thick piece of paper, from like a paper folder ones, thick enough to go in the printer and not curl up when pushed..
2. turned off the printer and turned it back on.
3, while printer was turning on,and makings sound as it does normally when turning on, I pushed through the piece of paper and the rotors stoped for a millisecond.
4.the rotors started again and pushed out the paper by it self with out my force.
5. I let the printer get started. and then turned it off and then on.
6. this solved all of my problems.
this was the first problem ever with this printer in 3 years.,preety good printer.

Printer Error E3

E3 error -
If paper has jammed in the machine, clear the jam, reload the paper in the machine correctly and then press [Black] or [Color].

The above is direct from the user manual.
If there is no paper jam - look for any small pieces of paper that could be located near the roller sensor.
