I have a hathway set top box cable receiver with a busted remote. I want the code for the cable receiver for urc 3740. The original remote is not in working condition, so copy-learning method wont work....

If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service center, or authorized dealer to your device brand.
To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability? Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its user manual. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. If you see the site by "MOSAIC" view, will make surf easier.

How do i get remote clicker c-01v.2 to work with 40ru52r toshiba tv

the manual for the remote can be found here.

this remote uses codes or learning function if you have the original remote for the device you would like to control.
Learn function is good because you can have one device button control multiple devices with different button assignment,

Hi there, I have just bought a jumbo tv remote and there are no codes for my Technika tv/dvd, the remote asks for four digits too, not three :( please help Emma :)

Hi Emma,

If the instructions for your remote (or universal remote) do list codes for all of the devices (TV, DVD, CD, VCR, etc.) you wish to control with it, I'm sorry to tell you that it probably isn't supported. There are literally thousands of remote codes for all the different device brands and models, and newer versions every year. It simply isn't possible for the remote manufacturer to know of all the products and codes that are "out there" in the world. You can attempt to try ALL the codes to see if if you can find what is needed, but since it is undocumented, the likelihood of the desired function button (such as "volume up") performing the expected task is minimal.

The exception to the universal remote problem detailed above is what is called a "learning remote". A learning remote requires that the device's remote is aimed at the learning remote and pressing buttons on both remotes allows the learning remote to store or learn the other remote's functions. Other variations of learning remotes are the types that have a database of device remote functions that are sent to the remote via USB cable from a computer connected to the internet. This last type is the quickest and possibly the easiest - but is also the most costly.

You could copy the brands and types of devices you wish to control (Sony TV, Pioneer Blu Ray, Sharp VCR, etc.) and go to a store - or better still - go online and view the manual for different remote control units to determine if they do control these devices. Or, you could simply use the universal remote you have to control all the devices it is capable of controlling - and use the original remote(s) of the other device(s) that the universal can not control.

If this was helpful, please rate it accordingly. Thanks & good luck!

Won't control Sony da4400es receiver

Hi. If your remote is not able to control any of your devices, you can take advantage of its learning capabilities. The Harmony One remote is able to learn commands from your original device remote, so that it can properly mimic the remote.
To learn commands, log in to your software account and click on the "Devices" tab. Next to the icon for your receiver, click "Learn IR." This will take you to a page with all of the receiver's commands, which you can learn one by one by selecting them and clicking "Learn."
Hope this helps.

Hi i'm trying to programme my sharp stereo with a sony rm vz220 remote control. But can't get the correct code. The only code that i got was 60048. But it does not work.. Help plz..

According to the Sony Support site for this remote, receivers are NOT supported at all. Additionally, only a handful of codes are available for Sharp electronics. They are for the following devices:

Blu Ray, CD, DVD, DVD Recorder, TV and VCR.

All the codes used for the devices above are:

12250, 70034, 70037, 70180, 10630, 10675, 12250, 10675, 00818, 60048 and 60848.

You could try these codes one at a time and possibly gain some remote control capability - but that would only happen by chance. The codes above are the ONLY ones built into the RM-VZ320 remote for Sharp brand products, and if none work for your equipment, Sony says you should use your original equipment remote to control it. Not very helpful.

You can either do as they recommend, buy a pre-programmed remote that supports your device, or buy a pre-programmed remote that supports "learning". Learning remotes are universal in that the products not built in to the remote can be learned by holding the original so it points at the learning remote and pressing function buttons so that the learning remote "records" the buttons pressed on the original. It can take some time to do this, but you are assured that the remote will work with you device. Of course, you must have the original remote to do this though.

I hope this helps and good luck! Please rate my reply. Thank you.

Harmony 659 won't learn samsung LN-52A850S1F remote

Samsung has recently acknowledged an issue with 8 series LCD TVs (e.g. LN52A860). When the TV is first turned on, it outputs strong IR interference which can render the Harmony unable to control your devices for several minutes. After the TV is warmed up, the interference dissipates and the Harmony will work correctly again.

To determine if your Samsung television is causing the issue:

1. Start an Activity that uses your Samsung TV
Confirm the Harmony is not controlling your devices
2. Completely cover the screen of your television with a blanket or dark colored sheet
3. Try changing the channel. If the device now responds, the television is interfering with your devices. Please contact Samsung for support

It is possible that by disabling certain features on your TV can also resolve the issue. Features that may cause interference with your remote include:

1. DNR/Active Control
2. Power Saving Mode

To disable either of these features, please consult the user manual for your TV.

Learning eye

The remote can be programmed with any other remote control. You place the remote control you want the universal remote to learn from in front of the learning eye and hit the correct key combination to teach it the codes for your particular remote. There are no remote codes because none are needed. It learns straight from the original remote. No compatibility problems. Hope that helps.
