I have an old fashioned popcorn maker (on a cart) - bought at costco 2 years ago. last couple of times, kettle heats up, stirring mechanism inside stops, and popcorn burns ... almost as if drive gear is not high enough, when paddle is low to the kettle bottom. I assume this is designed to stay against bottom of kettle and rotate, to keep kernels from sticking underneath and burning. any thoughts on how to rectify this issue ..?

I have a Gold Medal popcorn machine, not sure which model but the popcorn jams up, I babysit it while popping but the popcorn builds up, gets stuck and half of the popcorn gets burnt and the other half doesn't even pop. Please help.....
