Found below instructions - should work to change from chinese as well.

Your Brother machine's LCD can display information in English or Spanish. The default language is English.
To change the language on your Brother machine's LCD, follow these steps:

1. Press Menu, 0 (Initial Setup), 0 (Local Language).
   
   
2. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose English or Espanol.
   
   
3. Press the OK key.
   
   
4. Press the Stop/Exit key.

Reset the Language Back to Factory Defaults

1. Turn off the printer.
   
2. Hold down both the Right Arrow button and the Start button.
   
   
3. With both buttons held down, turn on the printer.
   
   Note: This will reset the printer language to the default which is English. You will have to re-select your specific language and country and also enter the date, time, and fax information.

Changing the Control Panel Display Language

The default control panel display language is set for English.
Supported languages are: English, French, German, Italian,
Spanish, Finnish, Danish, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Turkish,
Polish, and Portuguese. Follow these instructions to change the
display language.

1 Switch OFF the printer.
2 Press and hold Select while switching the printer ON until
SELECT LANGUAGE appears in the display.
3 After the power-on self test, LANG=ENGLISH appears. Press
[Value+/-] until the desired language appears in the display.
4 Press [Select] to save your choice. An asterisk (*)appears next
to the language to indicate it is now the default.
5 Press [Go]. The On Line indicator is lit, and display messages
are now in the language you selected.

Please follow the steps given below:

1. On the Operating Panel press Options (13 times) until LANGUAGE appears on the LCD screen.
2. Press the right arrow to scroll through the list of languages.
3. Press Select when the correct language is displayed on the LCD screen. This is now your default language.
4. When you power on and off your Lexmark X6100 Series, the default language is the one which remains.
The languages available and supported are the following:
English
French
German
Spanish
Italian
Dutch
Brazilian - Portuguese
Polish
Russian (PYCCKHH)
Greek (E^^HNIK^A)

hmmm!..simply go to the control panel and here is language and region icon....just click it and change the language that you want ( in this case english)....It may want XP cd ..just put the cd and it automatically change your prefferd language

try to reset the prtiner to defaults
