Hi, Connecting flexible cable between lcd board and main board of camcorder seems lose, open lcd cabinet and insert flexible cable in connector of lcd board properly to get image in lcd screen. Below image shows flexible wire and connector on lcd board of MHS-CM1 camera. Hope these info will help you. Thanks.
If you still have an image in the LCD but the touchscreen doesn't work, you most likely have a bad LCD flex cable. This would need to be repaired by an experienced technician. www.austintelstarservices.com
I have a sony 14E and suddenly it stopped playing and recording. With vertical lines on the screen I knew to clean the heads. No effect on the recording/playing malfunction.
However I persevered and it seems to have worked in it is now recording and playing back. The steps I suggest, with PERSEVERANCE, are :
1. Clean the heads (I did it 3 times in all, with about 1 hour between each session);
2. Leave the camera open (tape section) for about 2 hours and put the camera (with or without tape) in a warm place. (I also had condensation messages).
3. Once it is warm put in a recorded tape and attempt to view it. At first I had "dirty" vertical lines for a few seconds but it cleared and played normally.
4. If Step 3 still does not work repeat 1 and 2. As I said PERSEVERE.
If Step 3 works then try to record. It should work hopefully. If not, repeat 1 and 2 (shortening the "Warm Up" time).
Good luck. I hope mine continues to work OK now. It is to do with dirty heads and coldness I think.
Regarding can't see picture or time code in playback, it is problem of dirty / clogged video heads. Use good quality video head cleaning cassette to clean heads and hope camera will show playback picture.
CCD sensor problem ( that you can play back but have no image in capture mode is typical of this common problem ). Sony might do this repair free of charge because properly manufactured CCD sensor should last 10 years+ .
there are two possible problem of your camera...one check the iris of the camera if it is opening,you will see it went you look inside the lens when you turn on camera mode....and if you see that the iris is opening...the second may be the ccd image sensor......if that is the problem you have no choice but to go the sony service for replacing the ccd image sensor...
