Used mower was over filled with oil by local talent. Oil leak around governer shaft. Parts department said that engine serial number does not have oil seal where engine is leaking. Called a Honda tech and all he would say is that if it leaks there, it was over filled. Help
Drain oil from mower until proper level. Remove spark plug and pull starter rope several times to blow out cylinder. Spray starter fluid in cylinder pull rope several times to clean out. Replace fouled plug with new spark plug. Remove air cleaner, ensure no oil present, replace filter as needed. Clean air filter box with carb cleaner. Install new air filter reattach filter cover. Prime engine, pull starter rope 1/2 way 4 times to help prime, then pull starter rope fully up to 10 times to start.

Drain plug is not necessary. Remove the dipstick and tip the mower to the side the dipstick is on and use the dipstick tube as a drain.

Could you have hit something very hard with the blade while cutting? This could cause the shaft to bend and damage the seal. I have never heard of a 90 day guarantee, seals normally last for years.
SOURCE: Honda Self-Propelled Lawn Mower leaking oil?
It is toast you fried the crank/connecting rod, by running it low on oil.
Its hard to say what caused the oil leak, but now it is ruined.
SOURCE: oil leaking from the box on the rod that connects
No that should just be your transmission for self propelled. Most likely belt driven off motor, with level connected to cable to select drive. . Probabaly a seal leaking on the driveshaft. You could either try and replace seall or replace transmission
