Question about Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000 Webcam
I installed the software on my desktop with no problem. When I tried to install it on my Gateway 4540GZ Notebook, the camera will not load. The mike is installed and works. I tried a previous suggestion to download the latest software from the Logitech site with no difference. By the way, I did a clean installation, uninstalling everything before I installed it again.
If you mean that it will not install at all, and mean that windows won't recognise your cam; it maybe that you have not updated windows installer 3.1 after you have done a clean install. Click on link to download, apologies if this is'nt what you mean. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=889482fc-5f56-4a38-b838-de776fd4138c&displaylang=en

Just check that your usb ports are plub and play enabled.
Do other usb peripherals work, have you installed updated usb 2 compatible drivers on your motherboard.
Check that plug and play is working, go to Control panel> Administrative tools> Services, then look down list to plug and play(this should be set at automatic), then further down list look for Universal plug and play(this should be set at manual).
If these are not the settings right click on them and set as above.

Thank you for your response. I tried it but it still doesn't work. As before, the software is installed but the system can't install the camera.
i try to instal it to windows vista but the cd-room can't be instal i dont know wy
I try setup 11.5.0 and 7.2.1 Drivers.
Both tries has one result - applications does'nt find cam.
In device manager for cam "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)".
I try reinstall driver with master, but all *.inf files from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Logitech\QCDriver are "The specified location does not contain inforvation about your hardware"
i have the same issue. did you resolve it? if so how? thanks a lot
I'm using Windows XP. There are two components the audio/mic which installs fine, and the webcam which Windows will not associate a driver to. I have the most recent drivers installed. I have directed the driver update to the directory. I have tried choosing each .inf file in the directory; Windows will not accept any of them.
my laptop says i can't install my cam without a disk but i didn't get a disk with my cam.
