Hi I have experienced the same problem pretty much from day one. Initially I chalked it up to general camera fussiness about the batteries being used. After more experience it is pretty clear that this is a random error that just as randomly goes away. I decided to upload the latest firmware (available from Kodak support) to see if this makes the issue go away.

We have one that does the same thing. Wiggle the dial we turning it one. I was ready to give up on ours and on a whim I turned it on and then wiggled the dial switch and it came on.

Re: it won't turn on!
If you are sure you are running the camera properly. And you put good fresh batteries in making sure the batteries are in the right way. You might want to find the receipt and return it to the store. Cameras can get pricey fast to repair.

Green light flashed, turned red, lens would not open. Put in new rechargeable batteries, still nothing. Someone here suggested to try regular AA cheapie batteries. IT WORKED!
what type of battery are you using?try to use lithium or rechargeable batteries. Alkaline batteries can cause power issues. If you are using a memory card, try taking it off and turn camera on without the memory card. if is still does not power on, camera needs repair. you can set up repair for your Kodak camera at www.kodak.com/go/itg
