TV 2 works fine with the UHF receiver, but TV 1 does not work at all, Dish not detected. I scanned channels, does not show I have Dish. Receiver is VP222K.
1) change the new batteries
2) Clean the contacts batteries very well
3) retight the springs contact for better contacts batteries
4) Open the remote and clean the keypad with special spray contacts cleaner.
Otherwise you must go to the repair shop.

I am so dumb. Called Dish. It was fixed in minutes. I hadn't put the video and audio cords in the back of the television. This was a TV2 before in my kitchen and it became a TV 1 in the bedroom and didn't need to do that, there weren't any video, audio cables for TV 2. Embarrassed. Thank you so much!!

First before trying to repair the remote lets try to just reprogram it. The easiest way to do this is to do a search. 1st Turn the tv on, then on the remote press and hold the tv button until it flashes. Next press the tv power button. Next press the up arrow button slowly until the tv turns off. Then hit the # key. Now if you pressed the up arrow to many times and the tv doesn't respond to the remote just start the process over, except using the up arrow use the down. You may have to push the up arrow button many times before it finds the code. The batteries usually last quite a while since there are 4 of them. If this doesn't work call 1-800-333-dish they will either send out a tech or just mail you a new one. If you have the user guide for the 722 the instructions to do this are on page 82.

You have a dual receiver and 2 remotes. make sure that receiver is in dual mode. That you press the sat key on remote 2 if it will still not operate take remote 2 to the receiver. With remote #1 press the menu button twice you should then be on they system info screen. Pick up remote #2 press and hold sat key until it blinks press record 3 times . press red power button and if tv2 light goes off and on the remote should work again for tv2 . Use remote #1 press select exit screen,
SOURCE: Dish IR Remote 20.0 has problems after sunset.
The problem for me was the TV giving off IR signals that interfered with DISH's poorly designed remote. When the TV's room ambient light sensor was turned on and it became dusk outside the DISH remote would stop working. Moving the receiver away from the TV helps but the problem is not eliminated until the light sensor is turned off.
Until DISH corrects this poor design there may be no other viable solution.

I MAY have a solution!! We too have the VIP722 Dish Network receiver. Ours is the "K" model. I called the place where we purchased the TV and they said that the "brightness" on the TV may need to be turned down. He walked me through this, and it worked. The remote WORKS now!! Our TV is a 40" Sony Bravia that we purchased a couple of months ago. Evidently at night, the TV was so bright in the room, it interfered with the Infared Remote control. By turning down "off" brightness detector on the TV, the IR remote was able to send the signal to the receiver. Our TV is on a cabinet and the receiver is directly underneath on a shelf. I hope this solves your problem and anyone else's that may have this problem with the remote.

I will assume this is a direct connect from the wall plate to the TV. With that said you need to run a scan on the set to lock in the channel the second TV is modulated to either 60 air or 73 cable usually. Go into the menu on the tv and select the auto channel search. Some sets scan both sides at once others require you to choose cable or off air. Once this is done you should find the signal.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using Fix Ya.
Hello walker3putt, my name is Michael Hurst with DISH Network. Is this remote an IR or UHF? There are ways of reprogramming the remote to the receiver. If this is and IR remote for an independent receiver then you can try pulling the smartcard out and System Information will come up on the TV. Look at the Remote Address on the TV and write down the number. Then Hold Sat until all lights on top of remote light up. Let go of the Sat button and pick a number from 1-15 and then press # and Record. Your remote address should change. If there isn't a smartcard in the receiver then try the menu button on the front of the receiver. If this is a secondary remote and is UHF you will have to take remote 2 to the room where the receiver is located and follow the same steps.
