I have a n onkyo av reciever ht-r560 only the front 3 speakers go on when im using it i know the rest work and are plugged in correctly because the volume tester outputs sound through it. Is there an on...

Your sound might not be working because the HDMI and optical audio inputs might not be working.

I made the mistake of buying the Onkyo HT-560 and in less than two years all of the HDMI video inputs started intermittently breaking. Sometimes when you selected the channel both the image and the sound would not come though.

Also the rear speakers stopped working from time to time and I have to run the setup again to get them to turn back on.

I am not sure that Onkyo was ready to introduce this technology, it has been a nightmare and my stereo is going to cost almost as much as I bought it for to fix it.

Oh and there customer service was no help, they just told to bring it to an "authorized service center for repair". They had also had no idea where there was one in my city it took them a day to get back to me.

The Onkyo HT-S5100 looks almost identical to the HT-560 not sure if they are different in anyway.

Stay away from Onkyo in the future! I know I will.

I have an Onkyo HT-R8230 receiver and I can not get any sound out of the center channel or the subwoofer. The sub will not even power on. It stays in the standby mode and there is no manual on/off button...

The manual is available at retrevo.com.

If you don't have the center and sub defined in the Onkyo they will never work. See page 20.

If that is all set and you still have problems...

To prove the center speaker works, connect it to one of the front channels.

To prove the sub works, connect it via RCA cable(s) to the Tape Out and play something containing deep bass. You should see it come out of standby and hear something, albeit only the deep bass.

I've gone through all of the setup procedures, only the front speakers work, nothing from the rears, center, sub or sides. When setting up with the mic, all goes well?????????????? Onkyo TX-SR602. Tried...

Steve,
I would forget the TV for now. I would use another input source to confirm where the problem is. I would hook up a CD or DVD player to it and check that the speakers are working as they should. If they do work, you may have a bad cable from the TV. Or the new TV is not set for surround sound. It may be as simple as selecting the proper decoder from the TV menu.

The rear speakers and the center channel speaker do not work

Hi, maybe, like my HT-THX25, my book states that sound will only be heard from the rear speakers when in DVD 5.1 or Dolby Pro Logic 11 mode, peronally I would love to hear sound from any of my speakers when TV is on lol. Geoff

Check out Onkyo's website: The HT-SR 800 description says "a separate audio connection is necessary" Maybe it is true for the --750 too.

Onkyo HT-R520

Hello the HT-R520 is the model of the receiver that is part of the HT-S770 package. I suggest that you check the speaker settings. Check the level of the center speaker. If you need assistance please contact Onkyo at 800-229-1687 option #3. Thank you, Onkyo USA
