Samsung TXJ2754 (27") DVD issues (Sound but no Picture)
Ive had my surround sound dvd player/receiver (RCA) for a long time and it worked, but now i cant see my dvd on the tv (the tv says i dont have any video signals available) when i know i do. I thought maybe it was a dvd player problem cause i tried screwin around with it, so i bought a NEW player (ZENITH ZHD-311)......i hear the dvd but cant see it, I know the SWITCHING of TV/VIDEO button on the tv remote. Still doesnt work. I tried my dvd player on another television and it works fine. Is it the Tv? Did i blow a fuse? I hooked the wires correctly. Or is a setting in the television need to be set differently!??! Please help, i hate to use a small 14" television to watch my dvds on surround sound.

Assuming you have picture on the TV when hooked up to cable, antenna or satellite I would take the DVD player to a friends house to see if it worked on their set (using your cables of course). If you can't get a picture on your TV no matter what, then it could be either the Jungle IC or EEPROM IC inside the set. Since it displays "No Video Signal" on the screen, that leaves out the High Voltage section of the TV. My main suspicion would be the video cable or settings on the DVD or TV.

If your surround sound receiver unit has rca audio inputs(red/white), you can hook up any brand of DVD player that has rca outputs. You would hook the yellow output from DVD player to yellow input on TV. Hook red/white output from DVD player to red/white input on surround receiver. Hope this helps.
Hi,here is my simple solution... To listen your TV on your samsung ps wx30 surround sound system ,
** you need to connect "Audio Output " RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" or "HDMI out " of your TV unit ** to "AUX input "
or "TV" OR "Any input" of your dvd player or "Optic Cable input" or "HDMI input" ** than just switch to
respective mode on dvd player corresponding your RCA or Optic connection or HDMI .. . There you go..Your TV sound is on the dvd player By this means whatever you watch on the TV (tuner, satellite , Xbox , etc..) ,it's sound will come thru your dvd player.
Hope this helps!..if more he?p requires pls let me know.. Take care and please Remember to rate/vote and give me 4 Thumbs Up for me to continue for Helping out the Community :)
This is how the connection is suppose to be, DVR "OUT", to TV "IN" using the RCA plugs, then press AV on the TV. If this is how you connected it, then maybe there is something wrong with the video wire (Yellow).
As for the DVD, you need to connect an Audio wire separately because the component Red + Green + Blue wire only stands for video. Audio is Red and White, this must be connected for you to get sound from the DVD.
To connect the Audio for your DVD player, connect Red and White wire to Audio "OUT" of your DVD player, to "AUX" in of your AVR 146 receiver, then select AUX on your receiver and sound will come out from your DVD through the receiver.
I hope this is not complicated for you. This connection is simple, all you need is to understand the basics which is OUT and IN. If you want to watch DVD on your TV, this means the DVD will be good OUT to IN of the DVD. The same goes for audio.
If you don't understand, please let me know so that I can direct you further.
This depends on whether you have digital cable box or not. If you have a Digi Cable Box look for the red/white RCA output and connect this via RCA cable to the Red/White Audio input on your surround.
If just Basic Cable look for a red/white audio output on the back of your televison. connect this to the Red/white in on your surround. Could be called tv in or auxillary.
The dvd player is responsible for reading the surround sound track, and sending it to the receiver. First make sure you are playing the surround sound track on the dvd, many have a stereo track too. Next, try another dvd and see if you can play surround sound on that one. If you can't play surround on ANY dvd I would start looking at the audio connection from dvd to receiver. Are you using an optical cable? Red, white, and yellow RCA cables? Optical will transmit any sound over only one cable, RCA cables need one cable for each channel (LF, C, RF, LR, RR, sub.) If your connections are correct, is the receiver set to play a surround sound track? Is it set in 2 channel mode?
i have a plasma samsung 42 inch and i dont know how to connect my jacks red, white, yellow from the dvd to the plasma and what channel should the plasma be on to see the dvd ????
thanks
anthony
I am assuming that you are using a surround sound system? If so on the back of the satellite receiver you will have RCA cables labled yellow ,red, white uuse an rca cable to run from the output on the back of the sat box to an rca input on the surround sound unit.the inputs should be labled on the back of the surround sound unit.once you have the sat box plugged in look for the output on the surround sound (rca cables) run one set of rca cables to the rca cable input of the Tv.on the original tv remote select the tv input that is the cable from the surround sound is plugged in to . make sure the surround sound unit input is selected to the input that the sat box is plugged into.this will give you surround sound from your satellite receiver, repeat with your DVD player plugging the DVD rca cable output to another empty input on the surround sound.to switch between the sat box (satellite TV) to DvD select another input on the surround sound unit.Try to correspond the units you are plugging into the surround sound to the correct name of the component on the back of the surround sound unit to avoid confussion.any questions,Im here to help.If this works rate me FIXYA! if it helps.GOOD LUCK!
