Question about Samsung HT-DB120 System

1 Answer

PROTECTION Hi, I have a similar Protection problem on the Samsung. Difference is that it will play DVD or CD for about 7 to 10 minutes, then the screen will show the word PROTECTION and switch the unit off. It will switch on immediately afterwards and will play again but same will happen after a few minutes. I really dont know what it can be...anyone any idea??perhaps then also an output short?

How do I shut of the Protection on the Samsumg HT TP-33 in order to play a DVD

If you mean the unit is self protecting due to a short or overload, disconenct all the speakers and see if that helps, then troubleshoot the cause. Otherwise, it needs service.

Then there's this....

Copy Protection

Many DVD discs are encoded with copy protection. Because of this, you should only connect

your DVD player directly to your TV, not to a VCR. Connecting to a VCR results in a distorted picture

from copy-protected DVD discs.

Shuts down by itself

If there are no speakers connected and you still get the protection message, there is a problem internally. Exchange the unit while you can. The typical parts required to fix this problem will be over $75 US.

Sony CX995v "Cannot Play" message on DVDs but plays CDs O.K.

Hi...
The laser goes thru a different lens arraignment for DVDs.
Take it to a TV shop and have them "blow out" the laser assembly with some CO2 and clean the lens.

DVD'S will not play..

Sounds like the unit is bad, or set to the wrong Regional Code. Its not easy to set the regional code and it varies by model. You are better off buying a new DVD player given they can be found for under $30.
