The machine will wash and drain. When it goes into a spin cucle, we get a CA or CI error. Which means extra current draw on motor. I took off the front panel and check the belt. Its fine. When looking at the belt, it will move clock wise. When the belt moves counter clock wise, it comes to a point and the stops and gives the CA error or CI error. So, what part of the machine is stuck, so that it won't do the counter clockwise spin?
A common fault on a front loader washing is brushes wearing out in the motor.
A general maintance is to check these brushes out about ever two years.
Isolate the washing machine from the power.
Remove the motor and with a small screw driver lift the brushes of the commutator or just take it down to your local motor rewinder and get him to bench run the motor and test it while you wait.
If its had its day look around for a good second hand one.
It could be in the electronics but i have seen a motor take the electronics out??
I think its the motor???

Ca - Average Current peak - happens if there is a 2 second average of current draw greater than 5.55 amps at the motor windings. This may signify problems with the drive motor, thermal protector, or motor controller. Overloading the unit may cause this problem. Try washing smaller loads and see if the problem goes away. If it recurs when you wash bigger loads, decrease the size AND watch to see if you have to continue to decrease the size to keep the error from happening. If that were occurring, it could well be a sign of the electrical problems noted, requiring service. CA Cl Average current limit Or Instantaneous current limit If a status signal comes back from the motor controller that a current limit has been breached, the unit will return to standby mode and display either CA for average current limit trip or Cl for instantaneous current limit trip.Average current trip occurs if there is a 2 second average of current draw greater than 5.55 amps at the motor windings.Instantaneous current trip occurs if there is a spike of 26 amps instantly at the motor windings. This may signify problems with the drive motor, thermal protector, or motor controller. Over-loading the unit may cause this problem.
I think CA means [C]ontrol [A]verage Error. It means you need to reset the control panel, and retry again.
The CI and CA error codes indicate that current (amp draw) limits for the drive motor were exceeded. Since you indicate that these codes were displayed even though the washer is not overloaded, it is likely that you have a problem with the motor, motor controller or the universal joint. An item stuck underneath the nutate plate or between the spin basket and the outer tube of the washer could also cause this problem.

CA means average current limit . this may signify problems with drive motor or motor controller over loading the washer may cause this problem. to clear this-press stop /cancel
If a status signal comes back from the motor controller that a current limit has been breached, the unit will return to standby mode and display either "CA" for average current limit trip or "CI" for instantaneous current limit trip.
Average current trip occurs if there is a 2 second average of current draw greater than 5.55 Amps at the motor windings.
Instantaneous current trip occurs if there is a spike of 26 Amps instantly at the motor windings.
This may signify problems with the drive motor, thermal protector or motor controller. Overloading the unit may cause this problem.
how are u am scott hope i can help ok i have the same washer this CA code means AVERAGE CURRENT LIMIT, OR INSTANTANEOUS CURRENT LIMIT. if a status comes back from the motor controller that a current limit has been breached, the unit will return to standby mode and display either "CA" for average current limit trip, or "CI" for instantaneous current limit trip. AVERAGE CURRENT TRIP occurs if there is a 2-second average of current draw greater than 5.55 amps at the motor windings. INSTANTANEOUS CURRENT TRIP occurs if there is a spike of 26 amps instantly at the motor windings. This may signify problems with the drive motor, thermal protector, or motor controller. or overloading the unit may cause this problem. press stop/cancel to clear the display good luck
Hello there: the ca or even a ci can mean the following
CA
Cl
Average current
limit Or
Instantaneous current limit
If a status
signal comes back from the motor controller that a current
limit has been breached, the unit will return to standby
mode and display either CA for average current limit trip
or Cl for instantaneous current limit trip.
Average current trip occurs if there is a 2 second average
of current draw greater than 5.55 amps at the motor windings.
Instantaneous current trip occurs if there is a spike of
26 amps instantly at the motor windings.
This may signify problems with the drive motor, thermal
protector, or motor controller. Over-loading the unit may
cause this problem.
Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display unplug the machine for 1 hour and then plug back in and see if the error is now cleared
"Ld" (Long Drain) flashes
Is the drain hose kinked or clogged?
Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.
• "CA" or "Cl" (Current Limit)
Is the washer overloaded?
Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.
CI (an "i", not a "one") and OB are related - overloaded, the washer's motor controller will draw too much current and either the average current will peak ("CA" error) or the instantaneous current will spike ("CI" error). OB - out of balance - indicates of course a load that is not balanced, or is too heavy.
Wash less items and see if the problems lessen. That is what we have had to start doing, but we still can wash a BUNCH of items in this type washer!
