Replaced my Xerox Phaser 7750's waste cartridge but it didn't up date the information..is there a way to reset it so it recognizes i changed it?

There is an optical sensor above the cartridge where the small clear window is. It may be covered in dust. Use caned air to blow out the area or try a q tip to clean off the sensor.

Firmware can only be updated thru CenterWare.
You need to download the software from both links and install in date order alder first.

You will need to contact your local Xerox concessionaire for further information. It can be a faulty CRUM chip on the side of the toner cartridge (very un-likely) or if your machine is quite new then I've seen an NVM location needed to be updated. (slim possibility)
Xerox Concessionaire is the best course of action.

the only way to reset the message is to replace the cartridge CHIP with new one or reset the chip with proper CHIP reseter(but i don't think that you have reseter).
This printer can write on cartridge chip and sometimes when you replace cartridges the printer writes directly the information from empty chip to new chip and that makes new chip EMPTY. This is some kind of bug. SORRY!!! CHIP is cheep so don't worry...be happy

That machine does not have a waste toner container like the xerox phaser 7400. What it does is all the waste toner is cleaned at the IBT belt. If you remove your IBT belt part number 016-2000-00 you will see there is a plastic container at the end and that is where the wast toner is.

I just fixed mine. You need part #604K47890 Gear Coupling Assembly Kit. Cheapest I found was $6.99 at www.sparepartswarehouse.com plus $13.95 s/h. Remove the waste cartridge & you can see the white plastic gear. I tried to disassemble the printer (using service manual) in order to replace this part. Good luck. It looks like you need to take the WHOLE thing apart. Easier method is to get a drill or dremel & grind away the thin metal to make the whole slightly larger. Just be careful with the dust/particles. I did this & it worked perfectly.
