the tv automaticly determines if it should go to 3D mode as long as the DVD player or say like PS3 or PS4 is connected to HDMI (yes those two game consoles will support HD Blueray 3D and DVD 3D movies) if the TV isnt displaying 3D look into the video settings of your TV to enable that ability also your TV will come with 3D glasses if the TV supports 3D
Do you have the PTA02 accessory for the TV? This is a USB 3D transmitter and comes with 2 pairs of Active 3D glasses. The screen of the 40PFL8605H is not a 3D TV by itself.
I hope this helps. If you have the 3D accessory plugged in, try turning off the TV and turning it back on if the software did not install properly. The final thing to check is the "codecs" for your 3D movies on the USB stick. Make sure that they are compatible with the TV.
WD-Y65 is NOT a 3D ready TV. You either have to change the TV to see the movie in 3D, or just watch it in 2D in you current TV.
I have the same TV as yours. Current I connect a desktop PC to the TV via DVI port, and I watch Avatar using colorcode 3D(Amber/Blue) with Stereoscopic Player from www.3dtv.at It might be a way for you to enjoy 3D without change the whole thing, but it's an entire different topic.
3D in tv technology wright now are in it infincy. Not worth the money to buy the 3D LED tv and it 3D external devices.Right now are very limited in productions in movies in 3D world or 3D movies for tv or transfer from 3D movies from the movies theather Big Screen.Right now, just best to watch 3D movies in the theather Big Screen.Stick to a 2 dementional LCD tv screen for at lest another 5 years, before there are 3D tvs and movies, will make a difference in ur lives.
You have a convergence problem. Please see a tech about reworking the convergence board or better still, have them install a refurbished board. The refurbished board will usually have a six month warranty! Thanks for asking ,and fear no TV tech, as you are armed to get a straight answer.
it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem. This is how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo So basically the 3 Lcd chips that create the colors and image is going bad and thats why you get that color discoloration.Contact maker or look for your light engine online.
This sounds like convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks! See link for more detail http://www.ehow.com/how_4575598_yourself-projection-tv-repair-convergence.html
This is a common problem that was NOT caused by watching the 3D movie! Bad solder connections on the high voltage transformer have caused a solder in fuse to blow. The transformer will have to be resoldered and the fuse replaced.
