Question about Dell UltraSharp 1702FP 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor
I have a Dell 1702FP flatscreen. It works great.... for 15-20 minutes. Then the left side of the screen starts 'tearing' away. Eventually the whole screen is unreadable. If I shut it off til it cools, it's fine again. I've read the 'Replace Capacitors' solution, but not sure that it will help. Has anyone else seen the problem I've described?? and have a solution?? Thanks, sirlansa
It might be a failing electrlytic or a heat-related issue with a transistor in the power supply, or it may be a problem in the video board. Sounds like will need good old-fashioned component-level troubleshooting.
