If you hooked it up to an ipod dock or speaker that says that it will chage your ipod for you, you will have fried the motherboard. if it started to smell like it was burning and got extremely hot, it is because ipod chargers and docks such as the Ihome have a diferent rate of charging voltage. its as if you plug a strobe lite into a DC charger with the wrong voltage...it will overdrive it.

No recovery no firmware... nothing works with my ipod

me too! The only thing that the Sansa left is the blue ring. I formatted the e250 and the software all gone not even in recovery mode. Is anybody know how to re-install it from the bottom?

It turns off as soon as you unplug it from charging.

maybe it could be the battery.. you might need to go purchase a new battery

Tried ipod speakers with sansa. Screen went blue and sound went bad.

Dear seren, If you are having trouble with your mp3 player, and you haven't taken it apart, all screws are intact on the backside of the sandisk e250, then you might be able to get it replaced by sandisk, but a hint: don;t ever put your sandisk into an Ipod dock, such as an Ihome. They might have the 30-pin connector similar to the sandisk's, and they might fit into your sandisk, but the Ihomes have a different voltage level than the sandisk's chargers. now, if you want to get an Ihome for your sandisk, Griffin, Macally and DOP brands have chargers, Ihomes, and dock ports made just for the sandisk. Hou do i know this, you ask. Because i have done the same exact thing, but i took mine apart to see what's wrong. It ruins the capacitors and overdrives it. but you can buy the right kind of capacitors at a nearby Radio Shack, but it very difficult to put it on. You have to get the one originally on it off, and that one's soldered ontop the motherboard. then you have to get the other one in just the right spot/ place, and then you have to solder the new capacitor onto the unit without get any solder on the gold linings. This is all i can do for you, the rest is up to you. GOOD LUCK!!! Wild2DMaxx
