Circuit analyzer does not show all possible problems, and tester might be defective.
Use analyzer on other outlets.
Buy another circuit analyzer.
Buy a multimeter at local hardware, and test for voltage, and continuity, and compare with known outlet that are functioning correctly.
For example outlet may be 240Volt instead of 120V.
Copy following links to see typical circuit analyzer and code:

SOURCE: Connecting Leviton Decora light switch.

At the switch you have a feed wire coming in this brings in power which originates in the electric panel. You also have a feed or feeds goings out to other lts or switches, this you seem to have on the switch. instead of the closet switch loop.undo all the wires. find the only hot this is the one wire you can touch to the others and make different lts come on i reccomend getting a electric tester to do this. FInd the wire that goes to the closet lt. Once your sure put it to the side. wirenut all other wires together with the hot wire. this makes all other switches independantly hot. connect the hot to the switch and the closet lt to switch. I HOPE THIS MAKES SOME SENSE TO YOU . let me know if i can help

Testing household outlets with 3 light tester

Have you tried to determine if the problem outlets might be controlled by a wall-switch? This could be the case if separate black wires coming into the box are being used for the different outlets.

It was wired for a 4 wire flat trailer plug. the plug was ripped off and now there are wires coming from both tail lights and the drive lights on rear passenger and trailer dont work. Green, Black, brown/w...

You need to install a 3-2 wire converter. I suggest a CURT 56175 then
1.Using a test lamp, identify the corresponding wires in the harness for the left turn, right turn, tail lights and brake lights. 3. Temporarily remove the vehicle's negative battery cable from the battery. 4. Using wire taps, attach the input wires of the tail light converter to the corresponding vehicle harness wires identified in step 2 as indicated.
Converter Brown Wire: Tail Light Circuit Converter Yellow Wire: Left Turn Circuit Converter Red Wire: Brake Light Circuit Converter Green Wire: Right Turn Circuit
5. Locate a suitable mounting location for the ground eyelet on the vehicle near the converter on vehicle's frame or cross member.
And your ready to tow!

Can you take a dryer that has a 4 prog plug and put a 3 prong plug on it?

Yes, you can put a 3-prong plug in place of the 4-prong plug.

The 4-prong plug has red, black, white, and green/yellow wires while the 3-prong plug has red, black, and white wires. The only difference is the green/yellow (ground) wire of the 4-prong plug which is attached to the dryer cabinet. All you have to do is connect the wires of the 3-prong plug in the same way the same wire colors are connected with the 4-prong plug then connect the terminal on the cabinet, where the green/yellow (ground) wire of the 4-prong plug is formerly connected, to the white wire of the 3-prong plug.

If I am trying to find the 'hotwire' for lights how do I do that? Do I touch 1 wire and the junction box then the other and the junction box and whichever lights the instrument that is the hot wire?

Test for hot wire:
By code, hot wire should be black.

Take photo of wiring so everything can be put back.
Remove wires from device.
Separate wires for testing.
Use ordinary tester.
Test each wire to bare ground wire.
Tester lights up on hot wire.

Now test for neutral wire.
You know hot wire.
Test each hot wire to other wires (except bare ground)
Tester lights up on neutral.

If you do not have a tester, take ordinary wall lamp.
Plug on wall lamp has 2 prongs.
Prongs should have a hole.
Spread prongs apart.
Wrap bare copper wire into hole on prong1.
Turn on power.
Test prong2 to each wire.
Light comes on when prong2 touches hot wire

Need operating instructions

T 101 Intermatic timer is 120Volt timer that will not work on 240Volt circuits

T-101 instruction manual
T-101 Wiring diagram:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-T104-Intermatic-timer.html#T101

To set timer:
Lift and rotate yellow dial until current time is lined up with silver pointer

To set ON OFF times:
Timer comes with 2 sets of ON and OFF trippers
Attach trippers on yellow dial at the time you want timer to turn ON and OFF
Minimum time period is 1 hour.
For 1 hour, attach ON OFF trippers next to each other.

To wire timer:
There are 3 terminals: A 1 2
Black Hot wire from circuit breaker connects to terminal 1
Black wire going to Load (lights fan motor) connects to terminal 2
White neural wires connect to Terminal A
Ground wires connect to green grounding screw

If the two black wires are on the wrong pole, the clock motor will not rotate, but the manual override will turn lights on and off

How to test for Hot wire:
Stand on dry boards
Wear dry clothes
Tape tester leads to wood sticks so hands are away from electricity
Separate all wires
Turn on power
Test each wire to bare ground wire
Tester lights up on Hot wire
120Volt circuit will have a single Hot wire
240Volt circuit will have two Hot wires

How to test for Neutral wire
240V circuit will not have Neutral wire
120V circuit has Neutral wire
Make sure circuit has only 1 Hot wire as described above
Test Hot wire to each white wire
Tester lights up on Neutral

My nissan pathfinder won't stay running evethough I start it as it should be. I'm not sure what preventing it from running?

Here are some things to check:

1. Make sure the starter relay is good ( this can be tested with a fuse tester) - touch the two prongs on tester to two prongs on relay until the light on the tester comes on - (if not a tranparent relay) if not light comes on, then the relay is no good.

2. If relay is good - check the spark plug wires, and plugs to make sure the wires are not frayed, secured to plugs, and plugs are not loose.

3. If these are good, if it has a distributor, check the cap and rotor. The rotor may be craked, and the metal prongs in the cap may be worn and grooved.

4. If these are good (which even if worn will still work), have the alternator tested. You may have a faulty alternator.

Also consider replacing the fuel and air filter before all things as usually it is the simplest of things. The fuel or air filter may be plugged.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Wire a 4 prong l dryer box

First with any electrical repair, safety must be observed. Be sure the circuit is turned off at the breaker panel (check wires with a voltage tester)
quality gloves and eye protection should be worn.

Typically the terminals or screws in the plug will be color coded (2 brass, 1 aluminum & 1 green)

The black and the red are both hots and can be connected to either of the brass terminals.

Red - hot = Brass terminal
Black - hot = other Brass terminal
White - neutral = aluminum terminal
bare copper - ground = green terminal

I hope this helps...
