Sounds like a cold control. It is located behind the panel and can be ohmed out to check for proper operation. You need to remove the light shield then after the shelves have been taken out remove the two screws that hold the fan shroud in place. This will allow back panel to come for so you can check the cold control. It should read as a short in all positions except off when the cap tubes have come to ambient temp. If you get the back off and see ice on only a small portion of the evaporator you have a sealed system problem and need a qualified technician.

Subzero 501F icemaker slow in making ice

More thatn likely, being thats an older model, you are low on freom and the temperature isn't cold enough for the icemaker to keep constant production up. You maybe thinking the freezer is fine because stuff is frozen in there but that is why most people don't catch the problem until they lose all their food. The temperature for the icemaker to even come on is 10 degrees F. The sub zero freezer temperature should be around 0. Check your settings and make sure they are turned down but I would get a thermometer and put in the freezer and check to see what it says. If its above 5 degrees F check your condensor coils to make sure they are clean and also see it the condensor fan is running. If dirty, clean the coils and see if the temperature drops, if not call a service company.

Freezer works fine air is circulating and temp. is zero degrees refer side is 60 degrees and air does not seem to be circulating. Settings are set on 4 as they have been for five years Do I have to...

Check to see if your hear your evaporator fan is running in your freezer, then check behind the refrigerator and see if your condensor fan is running. Make sure your condensor coils are clean under your fridge. Your symptoms are leaning towards dirty condensor coils. Good luck!

Freezer won't freeze, but refrigerator section fine, have cleaned main coils and removed ice buildup on defrost coils, still won't freeze, only gets to about 32 degrees

one problem i had was the condensor fan had stopped working because it was clogged up with ice buildup, check and make sure the fan is not iced up, once a year i have to unclog ice from the condensor fan which located behing the white panel, which you unscrew and you can get a visual on this fan. my freezer would stop working but the fridge part was fine. something as small as that was causing this problem for me.

My Subzero Condenser fan runs constantly - but coils are clean

If it is similar to mine at home (Model 550) the condensor fan is designed to run continuously, even when both the freezer and refrigerator are shut off. There is no control or switch in the fan circuit, so it just runs whenever the fridge is plugged in to the wall. It uses about 56 watts.

GE model TFX22R ice maker problem

First clean out the condensor coils. If you have pets it should be done at least 3 times a year. The other possible problem is if the gasket in either the fridge or freezer is worn out or has a gap it will not cool properly. Check that the fan underneath the unit by the condensor coils is running when the compressor is . Some smaller refrigerators have only condensor coils on the back and no fan. These units should have room for air flow on top and sides not built in flush with cabinets. Buy a thermometer for both the fridge and freezer compartments. You run the risk of food poisoning if the fridge temp can not be kept below 40 degrees. Freezer temp should be able to keep at least 0 - 5 degrees. (Ice cream is a very good indication of proper temp. It is the first thing that melts. Ice maker is a close 2nd.)

If these things don't work call for repair. Don't risk losing all your food!
