In most cases like this it means that the motherboard just can't handle the new processor. There should be a beep chart in your motherboard documentation that will tell you what the beeps mean. For example, one set will mean that the RAM is not there whereas another might say I don't think I have a processor. Often upgrading the processor requires extensive reflashing of your BIOS to support the processor IF the motherboard can even do it. Always read very carefully to see what processors your motherboard will support. Depending on your RAM, you might even have issues with the RAM. Sorry for all the bad news.

SOURCE: Acer Veriton M464 E4700 2.6Mhz cpu upgrade on MCP730 Mobo

Go to www.newegg.com and whatever you want to upgrade click on that item and match it up with your current board (by looking at the specifications and matching them). I suggest to buy a new mobo and all new processors and ram. You can use your old case, hard drive and all that good stuff that is removable.

SOURCE: i have 2 problems: 1. can this type acer run mac

The answer to your first question is yes, your computer is compatible with the MAC OS. However it is very important to continue to ask this question to the MAC Salesperson you deal with when purchasing the software.

The answer to your second question is to do with Heat. Your computer is overheating and is therefore slowing down so it does not fry your CPU. You need to ensure that the Processor Heat sink is making proper contact with the CPU and the fan is connected to the computer main board. Clean the computer of all dust and install as many fans as your computer chassis will allow.
I think this chassis supports up to 80mm fans.

A well cooled computer chassis will work efficiently and effectively.

The Cooler Master Geminii S CPU cooler is a very good CPU cooler for your Processor.
It will reduce the temperature of your Processor by several degrees.

It is very important to get as much, cooler fresh air into your computer chassis as possible. As this will mean that your computer system will run at a far cooler temperature.

SOURCE: ello. I wanted to know if

The AHCI can be enabled from using the correct driver but you should have enabled it PRIOR to the OS install

Acer did not always do this but often relied on compatibility mode

The speed increase is often not that much.

The BIOS on that board can be updated but you may find that AHCI still does not work as you expect.

Q9550 With Acer EQ35M MOBO

It is very likely that you simply do not have the right BIOS setup for the new processor. You will likely have to flash all your bios to get the new processor to both be recognized and to be able to recognize components on the motherboard. That is quite a jump in technology and it may be that the motherboard simply will not support the new processor period. In that case, be VERY careful buying your new board and make sure it specifically supports your processor. Sorry I could not be more help!

F672cr(m1610)and intel core duo?

The Acer M1610 was available with the following processors: Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Pentium Dual-Core, Intel Pentium D/4, Intel Celeron D/4 2.0GHz.

Based on this information, It is likely that you can support a Core Duo or a Core 2 Duo, however may be limited to the 2.0GHz models due to clock and multiplier limitations on the BIOS. This may be different if there is BIOS upgrades to support faster processors.

Your best option of the above listed processors will be the Core 2 Duo, however their system specifications report that only the Core 2 with 800MHz or less Front Side Bus are supported.

Also note that the Celeron 430 is a 64bit processor, so it is not likely to work on this system either.
