My HP OFFICEJET 7410 does not allow me (consistently) to scan documents when connected wireless. The the printer menu displays the message "no scan option: YOU NEED TO INSTALL OR RUN HP SOFTWARE FOR THIS FEATURE". After I re-install the software it will work temporarily (until i cut off the computer and attempt to scan again).
1.open the HP Director/Solution Center
2.click on scan menu and go to destination list tab
3. on the left side u will find a list of available destinations , move them all to the right side (front panel destination list) and save and then try to scan again ,
IT MAY WORK

I uninstalled/put into trash everything on my system related to the original application. Emptied the trash. Downloaded newest drivers, etc. from HP site and installed on my Mac. Yahoo!!! Scanner works fine!
The pages you scan in are each individual "pictures" which are very different than the text in the everyday word processing file. What you can do is to make a new word processing document and insert each of the scanned pictures into this new document in order. This will allow you to print all the pages in one job by printing the word processing document. As far as I know there is no way to scan all of the pages into one single file.
Make sure you have microsoft word installed i you computer.
But if you want to scan a document you can also scan it to HP Document Viewer.
