SOURCE: connection

should have at least windows 2000 sp4 or xp sp1 as operating system. plug into usb port on computer while computer is turned on. computer should recognize and install it as mass storage usb device and assign it a drive letter. sometimes xp will recognize it as a panasonic mtp device. this doesn't matter, you can still drag and drop files on it through windows explorer file manager.

Try reseting the unit.

1) Slide the hold switch to on
2) Turn power on.
3) While unit screen says hold, push: (mode)(-)(+)(-)(+)(mode)(+)(mode)

This should reset it.

SOURCE: someone good with panasonic sv-mp020 please help me!!!what does OVER LIMIT mean?

Try resetting the mp3 player. You can do this by sliding the hold button over and then turning it on. While on it should say hold. Then you push mode (-)(+)(-)(+)Mode(+)Mode(+)
Granted, that will deleted all the songs you have on there so make sure you have them backed up somewhere you can place them back on there.

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: Panasonic SV-MP020 Wait Problem

Make sure the usb jack is all the way in the player. Mine had a couple of mm of metal showing and felt like it was in, the display lit up, said 'wait' and then 'goodbye' :-(. Only later did I realise the jack still could be pushed fully in a bit further, and then *bingo*, a working mp3 player

After downloading more songs onto the sv-mp020, i switched it on and all i get is wait...its been like ...

There is probably a reset switch somewhere that you will have to find, It will be tiny, Just big enough to put a needle in there. Press that and it should reset without losing any data. If it does the same "wait" thing again then remove any new songs you put on and put them back on one by one to see which one is corrupting the software and causeung the problem. Its a good idea to leave 25% free space on any storage device and especially MP3 players etc.

I can't get my music to play.

Don't worry about it, simply go plug in your mp3 player to the computer and sign in to Rhapsody. Go to your play list and the songs should be there. Unplug your MP3 player and it should work. You have to do this because the warrant or license on your songs is up and you have to plug in your mp3 player to renew that license to keep listening to it. Hope this helps! It worked for me!

Won't Upload Songs

player has problems with windows media player 11. works with wmp 10. player also has problems with vista. firmware was designed for xp. no firmware updates available. you can try dragging and dropping through windows explorer, treating it as a usb mass storage device. it will play folders and songs this way. to get vista to recognize it, format the player through the player's menu ( set-system-format ) not through the computer. take out the battery for 15 minutes. reboot your computer. put battery back in. plug into usb port. hopefully vista recognizes it as usb device

Over the Limit

maximum number of files is 999 regardles of how many songs you have. maximum number of folders is 99. maximum number of sub folders is 5 per root folder. delete any excess or format the player from the player menu ( mode-set-delete or mode-set-system-format ) not through the computer. you will lose all your songs if you format the player.

Protected

Sounds like you have bought protected music that will only play on your computer. There are a couple of companies that do this with the music that you buy from them. goto the music file that you are trying to upload to your MP3 player, right click on it, and choose "properties". at the top, there are 3 tabs, you'll only want to pay attention to "summary" look down in the "origin" category...is it protected? If it is, then this is why your MP3 player isn't playing it. It will only play on your PC.
