Hitachi 50VS810 I have an issue with this TV It seems there is a yellow color always, more often when I watch hockey for instance.....I see yellow in the center of the screen, yet the outer edges of the screen is the vibrante white , that you would expect to see. I really never noticed it until I saw my brothers identical unit, which was flawless running HDMI from HD SAT box, all connections perfect any ideas? I have tried a new Hitachi replacement bulb, cleaned all interior panels, to no avail Any help or input would be more than appreciated regards John

Tonight my son noticed an area of yellow to yellow-greenish discoloration on the bottom half of my Hitachi 50v710. At first is was hard for me to see, but I fear it is getting worse. My set had the lamp go out last fall, which was replaced under warranty. I will attempt to post follow-ups as I learn more.

    P.S.-
There have been two possible diagnoses posted in reply to the Yellow-green discoloration problem. One of them said the problem was the Light Engine and the other said it was the Optical Block. Can someone please explain what the difference is and how to discriminate between the two . I really don't want to sound like too much of a dummy when I talk to Hitachi customer service and/or Warranty representative.

It could be that the "White Uniformity" needs to be adjusted which would probably require an authorized service technican to perform. Otherwise, the problem may lay within the light engine itself, also requiring a tech.

Phillips Magnavox 9P6040 C104 tv color adjustment help

If you turn color off and stand back and examine the screen---if it is not black and white but yellow looking you have bad Glycol in the blue picture tube which is quite common.

Easy way to know for sure is with set on and rear cover removed peek with a small mirror at the three lens---don't touch anything with the set on===each tube red, blue, green should have a picture with the set on.

Likely you will find the blue one looks like a floodlight with little or NO image/picture.

Your TV has a defective optical block which should be replaced by a TV technician only. Due to the cost of the part and labor, it is almost less expensive to replace the TV. The part number for the optical block is UX23751 and is available at the following web site. I hope that helps : )

Hi:
The only way to repair this is to replace the optics engine assembly, Light engines are rather cheap these days, try looking on www.tristatemodule.com for a new or refurbished one.
