One day it quit working for no apparent reason -- need service, but where?
My machine has always worked fine, I went to use it last week and it wouldn't freeze the mix. Nothing has changed, the machine has not even been moved, and we can think of no reason why it just stopped. So, we need a repair, but I am having trouble finding anyone who has any clue about how to fix it. Any ideas for repair would be much appreciated.

Question moved from Cars and Trucks to a Taylor Soft Serve category.
These machines are so complicated and driven by electronics, the techs only work on these. There is basic troubleshooting in the Owner's Manual but nothing that leaps out as relevant. No Service Manual online :>( Service callI reckon, watch over his shoulder and ask questions.
Those are symptoms of the mix refrigeration system being undercharged. You will need a refrigeration technician to add refrigerant.
In Taylor soft serve machines when the left side hopper (standing in front of the machine) is icing up and the right side hopper is not cold enough, the problem is low refrigerant in that system. It takes R134A. Soft Serve Parts C713
My small Business had this same problem. The first thing you need to look at is the product you are using. It turns out that if you are making your own soft serve. which Includes water and powder, it will save you a lot of time and stress to switch to cartons of soft serve that you just pour right in. It turns out that there is no consistency in powder icecream. the water will eventually separate from the mix, resulting in watery soft serve once dispensed from the machine. Next, if this isn't the prduct you are using then it can be other problems such as your compressor not working, or turning on when it's suppose to, maybe you have a weak motor, or your machine isn't set to the proper freeze level, Also, make sure that your machine isn't backed up against a wall or I between two other machines. These machines need to Obsorb cool air in order to work properly and not overheat . The machine's fan, which is located on the right side, needs to be have a certain amount Of space from walls or other machines. If this doesnt work you can always call a technition to come and check out the machine, I hope this helped, best wishes with your repair
