Recently, the projection lamp on my Sony KDS-60A2000 began to shut itself off then turn back on for no apparent reason. This problem is not source specific. It occurred while watching basic cable TV, DVD and gaming.
The sound is still there, but not the picture.
Bad lamp>replace lamp and reset timer in customer menu .Common problem with SOny.

wondered if the lamp is going--anyone try replacing lamp to fix this problem?
same problem for the last month or so, tv turns on fine but after a few minutes the picture goes black, the sound is still there but there is no picture, after 10 or 30 seconds the picture comes back up, this repeats itself every few minutes...any solutions?
my KDS-55A2020 just started doing the same thing. Some days works, some days picture off then on a few times then works fine, some times cycles for hours, about 50 seconds on, 36 seconds off. I cleaned the back which was quite dusty and worked fine the first day then started to cycle again today.
Same problem here. It's gotten to the point of being ridiculous now. Picture is on for less than a minute and then off for two minutes. Then the cycle repeats. Sound is fine. And no flashing lights.
