I have a jvc av-56wp74 56 in rear projection tv it has a lil purplehalf moon on upper left corner about 1 ft wide and 2 inches down and the tpo lefthand corner is lil blurry the rest of tv is fine any help...

Well David, it sounds like you need to unplug and open back and try to stick your head up in set and look down into CRT's tubes, you may have phopser damage on one of the tubes, you will need to turn on to see it just be careful not to touch anything electrical

It is worth getting an estimate. From the symptom you explained, it looks like the horizontal output transistor became defective.

Convergence problem

Hello,

Did you lock the adjustment into the TV's memory? This step is the most often missed. Please follow the directions on the Users manual or on the service manual on how to set your memory to hold the configuration.

Find the menu item on setting the convergence adjustment into memory (the menu should have an informational screen on this topic)

I hope this helps

Thank you,

JVC AV-56WP74

You would need the service manual in order to change the picture tube properly as there are dangerous voltages stored inside the tube also the tube would have to be set up properly as well. You can get the service manual for your model at the following link. They will email it too you right after purchase. Heres the link.
