Infocus IN26 shutting down

My Infocus IN26, with just about 300 lamphours on the clock, works fine for ca. 20 minutes but then suddenly shuts itself down and shows me the ´broken/red light' symbol on the display. If i turn it back on after a bit, the projector is working again (but again, only for about 20 min.)

SOURCE: INFOCUS Lamp replacement

If the counter had expired, the projector would not even attempt a power up. You have other issues. How many blinks on the light?

SOURCE: Infocus LP820 - Turns on for 30sec then shuts down

This could be one of two problems I have seen with another model Infocus projector (they are very good projectors though)

The first is the video input. Make sure it is attached correctly at both ends of the cable.
The second, remove the dust covers and blow them out. The problem can arrise if the temperature sensor detects the air inside the unit is getting too hot. If you can see the sensor when the dust covers are off (it will look like a little lump of goo on the end of a wire) then just give it a wipe as well. If dust settles on those it can cause incorrect temps to be reported.

Hope that solves your poblem =)

SOURCE: InFocus IN72 shuts off after 20 min.

internal error. if the lamp looks ok and it doesn't have many hours on it, it might be the power supply. the capacitors dry out and do not supply sufficient voltage. the in72s do have that problem.

SOURCE: Infocus LP 280 runs for 1 min then shuts down, runs again then

are the leds on the top lit or blinking? it could be the lamp, the ballast, or the fans. check the lamp. if there are black spots or bulges in the lamp, replace it. if not, make sure the fans are running. if they are, replace the ballast.

Projector will shut off after 15 min of use and won't restart till cool down fan is on and running

If this is one of the first IN26's made, this could be a lamp issue. Take the lamp out and look at the side that is closest to the underside of the of the top cover when installed. There should be foil tape covering the seams on the lamp. If not then heat is escaping from the seams and causing the thermal sensor to shut the projector down prematurely. This can be fixed by applying foil tape over the seams. If the lamp is already taped, then it could be a problem with the main board and will have to be fixed by a technician.

My laptop shut down after powering out with no warning and will not restart.... Toshiba L550 screen stays black but when I hit the enter key it beeps........any suggestions

“My Toshiba laptop suddenly shuts down by itself without any warning. Sometimes it works fine for hours, sometimes it shuts down in 10-15 minutes.” This complaint we hear from our customers over and over again. About 15-20% of all Toshiba laptops we get for repair, suffer from an overheating problem. Yep, OVERHEATING!
This is one of the most common problems with Toshiba laptops we deal with.
Indications of laptop overheating problem:
  1. The keyboard and the bottom of your laptop are very hot when the laptop is working.
  2. The CPU fans are working all the time at maximum rotation speed and operate much louder than before.
  3. The laptop suddenly shuts down by itself without warning. When it just started, the laptop was shutting down after 1-2 hours and how it shuts down after 5-10 minutes of operation.
  4. The laptop works fine when it runs idle, but shuts down as soon as you start using any memory demanding applications (DVD player, image editing software, video editing software, etc.).

Solution:
If the CPU heatsink is not clogged with dust and lint completely, you can use canned air and just blow it inside the laptop through the openings on the bottom and on the sides. It’s nice as a precaution measure, but it might not work if your laptop already has a problem and the heatsink is completely clogged.
  1. Open the laptop case, so you can access the CPU fan and the heatsink. In some cases you can access the heatsink through the latch on the bottom of the laptop. Sometimes (for example Toshiba Satellite A70/A75) you have to open the laptop case all the way down.
  2. Carefully disconnect the fan cables on the system board and remove the fan. If the fan makes unusual sound when it spins (grinding sound), I would recommend to replace the fan.
  3. Clean the fan and the heatsink with compressed air.
  4. I would also recommend removing old thermal grease from the CPU and applying new grease for better heat conductivity.

I have a lenovo laptop, 3000 G410. Recently it has a problem which it shut down by itself after I use it for 20 minutes. After the shut down, I turn it on and this time it work only 2 minutes and shut down...

This sounds like a overheating problem (a CPU thermal shutdown).
This is caused by a faulty fan or the heat-sink and fan is clogged with dust. Check the fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the faulty fan. Check the fan/heatsink assembly and remove/vacuum the dust from these components.

Infocus in26 fan runs continually

Hello,
The fan does run continuously on this projector however it should be running very very slow when the projector has completed it's lamp cool down routine.
The reason for this is that a portion of the switching power supply remains energized (running) when the projector is at rest. But as I mentioned it should run very slow in this state. If it remains running full blast then most likely the fan speed control chip is shorted which can cause fail 2 ways, either the fan 1. runs full
speed or 2. remains stalled (then the projector will go over-temp and shut itself down) I hope this answers you question.

Cheers

Lenovo laptop shutdown suddenly after working for a while

Hi James, replace the fan or If it's still under warranty have it serviced. Suggest you stop turning it on until the fan is replaced. It could be the fan cooling the CPU. You don't want it to fry.
The shut down process is normal when over heating is detected by the system.

Infocus IN26 Projector

Yes the problem is due to over heating. It would be perfectly acceptable to have inlet air to the projector that ranges between 70 ? 76 Farenheit. Most projectors are designed to operate with inlet temperatures well above this value, usually up to about 90F.Set your air-conditioner to the value specified and it should work fine..
