I tried to record something on my MP3 player and when i went to save it, the whole player froze! I couldn't get it to do anything, I even had to take out the batterie just to get it to turn off! Now everytime I turn it on, a little screen pops up that says "MTP DB mismatch format? No space for DB. please delete more than 4.0 MG" When I finally got it to turn on all of my pictures and songs had been deleted but when i plug it into the computer it says everything is on there still! Some one PLEASE help me here!!!!
My problem is similar. When I power on I get a message ""MTP DB mismatch format? No space for DB. please delete more than 4.0 MG". There are no music files. Unable to format. Only the FM radio works. All other options hang. Looking for a resolution to this.My problem is similar. When I power on I get a message ""MTP DB mismatch format? No space for DB. please delete more than 4.0 MG". Hey, I had that very same problem. My C140 actually started straight from the beginning with the 'select a language.' I suggest, that you press the on button, go into settings, reset all and go into music and play all. It reappears, but everytime I turned it on, I had to do the same procedure each time. I don't know if there's a better solution, but that's what I got for now.

Dear paige1340,
I was surfing the web looking for help with my sandisk c140 and I came across this page. I just had a similar experience with my sandisk c140. Im sorry that this isnt a helpful email, but I was wondering if you figured out how to fix that problem. Then only difference between yours and mine is that mine are gone even when I check with it connected to my computer. I tried to format it but it did not change anything. If you have any suggestion that would be great. My email is below.

Try resetting it by sliding and holding power button for about 15 seconds. Go to http://www.sansa.com/support for more troubleshooting and FAQs. Hope this helps and don't forget to rate the answers.
Format
This will format your Sansa c200 player’s internal memory. (and erase all songs therein)
1) Select Settings from the Main Menu.
2) Select Format.
3) Select Yes to format the internal memory or No to cancel.
i have formated my Ipod and the songs present in it were deleted and now it can not play any other song. Should i convert songs to ipod . and how can i convert?
If it is one of the older versions like and e250 try if it is even a sansa hold the record and power button well i think thats how you do it. . .TRY IT
have you tried opening the files in a music player? it sounds like you are just accessing the file folders. try opening it with windows media player or something like that.
IF the other solution doesnt work, you can try putting it into Recovery Mode, just to unfreeze it.
- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds) - Slide the hold switch into "hold" position. - Press and hold the "record" button for a few seconds.
If you see Welcome to Recovery Mode, let go of the Record button and hold the power button to shut it off. Then restart it.
