Panasonic 53'' convergence

First I know this set well, did you pull out the board or the light box to replace the chips?

Convergence problems are usually easy to see...

try replacing the convergence ICs

My Panasonic has exactly the same problem. The repair man just came in and said that the convergence and resistor burned under heat and have to be replaced. Will cost $400.

just got back today for same problem. convergence went out. took to repair shop. $200 part plus $60 labor. second time in a year convergence went out. was told it will happen again.

replace the convergence ic's or look for loose connections that should do the job

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

djbone30, you need two STK392-110 convergence amplifiers.

maybe you have defective convergence correction circuit! replace a new one!
