I have a problem, pink horizontal stripes appear on my screen every now and then. Sometimes the screen goes completely pink, everything white becomes pink basiclly.
I have no idea what the problem is but it's really annoying. Please help, thankyou. :)

Re: Pink horizontal stripes on my monitor
If youve tried pressing the degaus button on the monitor and the same result then either your graphics driver is corrupt and needs to be updated from the manufacturer web site or the monitor is on it's way out.
Try a friends monitor on your system or your monitor on a friends, if it's the same on a friends ststem, it's a belated Xmas present for yourself.

First of all try, changing the input device to some other and see whether you see the same problem. Then connect your present input to a different TV and see. If you feel the input is ok, and it is a problem in the display, this is a case to be handled by a qualified service technician.
It probably means that you're very lucky that your screen is failing and probably NOT the Video Card on *********** board. Either borrow a monitor and hook it to your computer (and see if the line appears on the borrowed monitor...if not, you know your monitor is failing) or take your computer to a friend's place and hook it to his/her monitor which will produce the same troubleshooting answer with the reversed conponents, if the line appears on his otherwise normal LCD, your video card is the problem.
Check and reseat the monitor signal cable. From the computer. If after reseating the signal cable the problem is exibited .It would require more inspection. Could you mention the model number of the acer monitor you are using
This issue could be either the Monitor inverter failing or it could be your Video card. If you have another computer available, plug the monitor into a different computer and see if you get the same behavior, if you do, then the monitor is failing and needs to be replaced. If on a different computer it works fine, then you may have a video card failing. Does it seem to happen the longer the monitor is on? Could be as it heats up, it starts to fail.
