I have 1G memory in my MP3, and the other day, when I turn on the MP3, it just told me I have no free memory and then turn itself off.
If I try to reformat the MP3 on the computer it would just freeze the computer instead...
Not sure what happened. Can anyone help?

I too had a same problem..You can solve it by using the User manual Compact disc which is provided by with the player. In that there ia an option for formatting the mp3 player. using that you can solve this.

To fix the "no free memory" problem, all you have to do is reinstall the program or try installing it on a different computer. Once installed again, the device is able to update properly. Cheers.
That's ridiculous! As long as the battery size is the same (i.e. AA or AAA) it shouldn't matter. Also, this is a flash-based MP3 player thus there is no hard drive.
Although I am not 100% sure, the firmware (internal software or memory) of the MP3 player maybe screwed up. Follow the link below and download the newest firmware for your MP3 player and make sure you download and install the correct one as there are a few similar models (i.e. YP-T6 vs YP-MT6). Read and follow the instruction carefully and it should fix the problem if it is because of corrupted firmware/internal file-system.
This hasn't happen to my Samsung YP-MT6Z 1GB MP3 player yet but this trick works everytime my Rio Forge MP3 players has internal memory problem.

I am having the same problem on the Samsung YP-T6 and i think it is because i might have fried the harddrive by putting in a non-alkaline battery in it. its like trying to plug in a american plugin into a plugin in germany, you blow up the house...

I have had the same problem several times. Each time I needed to flash the firmware. Go to Samsung.com support > download center > type in the model number (yp-mt6) click on firmware, and download the version that corresponds with your device. install the firmware updater on your computer, plug in your device. and flash the firmware. (this will erase ALL songs and settings so you will want to back those up first). After that its like brand new. Kepe the updater handy, I fixed this the first time, and it kept reoccuring every few months.
I have samsung yepp YP F1. After full charge, it only appear "loading" and somebody told me to reformat the unit. My question is how do i reformat the unit. thanks - - ronnie
I had the same problem and solved it with this:
On the Samsung support page, there´s a knowledge base called "YP-T6 Or YP-MT6 Show No File And Zero Free Memory"
you need to download the latest firmare from the downloads section, then with the uptader on the PC, remove the battery from the YP-T5 or 6 and connect the USB cable to a PC while pressing and holding the play button on the YP-T. It should connect in a recovery mode which allows you to update the firmware, format the flash drive and get going again !
you should reinstall your firmware for your player. Go to www.samsung.com, support and enter in the model of your player, select firmware and follow the directions.
I had this same problem bu this seem to fix it.
Good Luck
Use the Samsung Firmware Updater to fix it. Mine did what all of you are speaking about. I was ready to toss it then I tried the firmware updater on the CD and it fixed it. You must copy all the files from the \setup\Programs\ and \setup\Binary\ folders on the Samsung CD to a folder on your hard drive. Then connect the player via USB and run stupdaterapp.exe. It will search for the device and pop up a menu. Check the Format Data Are box and click start. It takes a few minutes and wipes the device clean but it fixed mine.
