Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller Logo
simon reece Posted on Dec 30, 2006

Wireless controller I recently purchased an xbox 360 and it came with a wireless controller. I also purchased an accesories pack containing two games and another wireless controller. my problem is i can only get one controller to register at a time. My kids cannot play any two player games at present. should the xbox360 automatically detect the second controller when it is switched on? or is there a certain procedure i need to follow?. When i activate the second controller, the little xbox cymbol flashes and rotates but nothing else happens. I have noticed on the first controller that when it registers the little xbox cymbal flashes then stops on the number 1.Can more than 1 wireless controller be used on the xbox at the same time? and how? thankyou.

Learn how to connect a wireless or wired controller to your Xbox 360 console.
Connect a wireless Xbox controller
  1. Turn on your console.
  2. Press and hold the Guide button on the controller until the controller turns on.

  1. When the lights surrounding the power button on the console stop flashing, the controller is connected.
On the Xbox 360 S console, each connected controller is assigned to one of four positions. Each position corresponds to a lighted section around the console power button and the controller Guide button. On the 360 E console, a solid green light on the front of the console indicates that the controller is connected. To determine the player position associated with your accessory, look at the ring of light that surrounds the Guide button on the controller.

You can also use the Xbox 360 Play & Charge Kit or the Xbox 360 Quick Charge Kit to power the controller. Learn more about Xbox controllers and chargers.
To connect additional controllers, follow these same steps again. You can connect up to four controllers to the console. Each connected controller is assigned a position that corresponds with the lighted sections that appear around the console's power button and around the Guide button located in the middle of each controller.
  • To disconnect a wireless controller, press and hold the Guide button for three seconds, and then choose to turn the controller off.
  • When you turn off the console, the controller will reconnect the next time you turn on the console.
  • The controller can be connected to only one console at a time. You can connect the controller to a different console, but the connection to the previously connected console will be lost.
Connect a wired Xbox controller

Wireless controller troubleshooting
If your wireless controller disconnects or cannot connect to your console, see Xbox 360 Wireless Controller disconnects or can't connect.
If your wireless controller does not turn on or loses power, try the following solutions:
Solution 1: Replace the batteries
Insert a new set of AA alkaline batteries into the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, and then try to turn it on.
Solution 2: Try a different battery pack
If you have another Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, take the battery pack off that controller and attach it to your controller. Then try to turn your controller on.
If your controller works with the different battery pack, your original battery pack might be defective. If your controller is under warranty, you can order a replacement battery pack from Xbox Support . See the Assistance section at the bottom of this page for more information.
If your controller is out of warranty, you can buy a new battery pack from a retail store.
Solution 3: Try a rechargeable battery packIf you or a friend has an Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack, attach that battery pack to your controller and try to use your controller. If your controller works with the rechargeable battery pack attached, you can buy a new battery pack from a retail store or order a replacement battery pack from Xbox Support. See the Assistance section at the bottom of this page for more information.

How to make Xbox 360 battery pack easier to remove? I recently bought a translucent green battery pack. Unfortunately it's impossibly hard to remove once it's inside the controller. Is there...

Hello.

Insert a small thin strip of silk cloth (or any smooth cloth) under the battery. Make sure it is long enough so you can just pull both ends of the cloth to remove the battery.

Controller doesnt connect to xbox 360

http://support.xbox.com/en-us/pages/xbox-360/get-started/console/connecting-game-controllers.aspx#expandoContent1If this doesn't work, the only option I can think of is purchasing a used controller and repeating the process above with the recently purchased controller. A safer and cheaper option, however, would be purchasing a used wired controller. There wont be as many problems.

My Datal Turbofire2 Xbox 360 controller won't connect to my computer.

For the Microsoft branded controllers, you need a usb adapter. Amazon has them ( http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Windows-Pc/dp/B000HZFCT2/ref=sr_1_4?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1299466859&sr=1-4 )or you can search Xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver for windows. For the price, the best option is to purchase the adapter bundled with a Microsoft controller.

Is xbox 360 controller compatible with laptops woth vista? Also can I play FIFA with it?

The Xbox 360 controllers are compatible with Windows Vista, you need to connect it either using the cable or you would need to purchase a "Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows"

http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Windows-Pc/dp/B000HZFCT2

Once you have connected the controller it should work with FIFA

Neither of my xBox 360 wireless controllers will sync with my 360 console. I have tried both contollers with a variaty of battery packs and they still wont sync but i have no problem with my wired...

Remove the batteries from both controllers, and unplug the Xbox for a minute. Now turn the Xbox on by the power button on the console, Install the batteries in your controllers, and hit the Console sync button first, then hit the little sync button on top of the controller.
If this does not work, you can purchase the wired charge pack that you must plug in to the USB port of the console to charge, and this will sync as your wired controller does. When it is synced unplug the wire from the controller and voila. Remember, the charger pack will look like this.

My Xbox 360 wireless controller battery pack broke!

Well as you probably know all there is to a rechargable battery pack from xbox is 2 generic batteries that connect to the plate that connects to your controller. I recently took mine apart to try and fix it because it was not working at all. If you still have the original battery case that takes the AA batteries i would go out and buy a rechargable battery base and charge the cheap *** batteries that xbox uses in their packs. Then use the batteries that came out of the pack and put them in the original harness. Or you could just use the ones you buy.

Conection inalambric

The XBOX 360 can only be connected via an RJ-45 ethernet wire to the router unless you purchase the wireless adapter. The adapter can be bought at any accessory store such as walmart, Target, Gamestop, etc.
