Question about Emerson EWC1304 13 in. TV/VCR Combo

1 Answer

Picture gets dark and light

Odd problem. The VCR part of the combo tv didn't work any longer so we hooked up a different vcr to the television. Some VHS movies would play without a problem while others would go from dark to light about every 5 seconds for the duration of the film. We left it alone and only watched some movies. Just today, we hooked a dvd player to it and removed the vcr. Same problem. Some dvds are fine...the rest go dark and light. What is that?? Originally, we thought it was the vcr. But, now it seems it must be the television. Any insight? Many thanks.

I hooked up a DVD player to my RCA Tv/ VCR Combo. I get sound, but no picture. All connections are tight. Cables are hooked up in the order they should be. I get cable from TWC. There are red yellow &...

The red and white are the audio, and the yellow is the video, check the back of the tv to make sure the yellow jack states input, if yes make sure the tv is set to aux/or video.

We are unable to get video (picture) on our TV, when we hook up to our new DVD/VCR combo. The combo doesn't have an S-video port and our TV does. We get perfect sound though.

Your TV should also have a regular composite video input jack (yellow) in addition to the s-video input. Use that input instead of the s-video. The video won't be quite as clear as with s-video, but you have to work with what the combo gives you.

Everything works but the picture; even on screen programming

try pluging cable wire directly to the tv to see if you get a picture you may have shorted out the rca connection may need to be repaired good luck.....

Need to hook up dvd/vcr combo with converter box

Connect your rabbit ears to the Insignia. Connect the Insignia to the antenna input on the "cvd/vcr combo". Now turn on the television to show the "cvd/vcr combo".

The Insignia simply goes between your antenna and your television. In your case you also have a vcr so if you want the VCR to be able to play and record digital stations you will need the Insignia between the vcr and the antenna.
