I put a DVD into the player, on the screen it said "Reading" for quite awhile. Then it said "Incorrect disc". I pressed the eject button, but nothing happened, kept trying to no avail - shut the player off and attempted to turn it back on.
Now it won't turn on.
What should I do?
The DVD may have jumped out of the tray, and the machanism can't work as the disc is in the way.
Try unplugging nd removing the lid, take the disc out by hand and then reassemble and try.

It not the disc, it won't take a disc ...... if I go to put one in it Makes noise but won't actually take the disc. Would this be the loading gear and can it be fixed or?
Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet and turn the player ON. Attempt to open the disc tray. Depending on the model number of your DVD player, simultaneously press the POWER + STOP + EJECT buttons. If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the DISC1 + STOP + EJECT buttons.6 Jan 2013
my akura dvdtv comb is the same it if you press eject it will push out the disc and pull it back in before you can put the disc in the must be useing cheap dvd drives it also is fussy with discs and reading
LOCAL TV REPAIR SAYS THAT, WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE DVD PLAYER NEEDS TO BE
REPLACED AND WILL COST ABOUT $125 TO DO SO, WHICH IS NOT AN OPTION AS WE
ONLY PAID $100 FOR THE WHOLE THING.
By pressing the Power button for >10 seconds you can force the unit to turn off. Immediately as the unit does, press the disk eject button and the defective DVD can be removed. Don't put it back in, or the problem may repeat!
