My 1013F is ghosting as well, progressively getting worse. Started about 6 months after replacing toner last time, and the machine has only done 30,000 copies.

AL 1655CS - We're experiencing ghosting...we've put in new drum and toners...could it be the fuser? Any way to verify the fuser need before we purchase it?

The best way to test for ghosting or Double Imaging caused by the fuser is to run a copy and shut the machine off just as the copy starts to exit the copier. Then open the right side door and open the fuser gate with all the teeth on it. This will release most of the fusing pressure. Gently pull the paper backwards out of the machine. About the bottom 1/2 of the page will have NOT gone thru the fuser yet and you can tell if the ghosting is present. If it is not then the ghosting is coming from the fuser. Note that ghosting caused by the fuser usually does not show up evenly across the whole page. It is usually in bands, lines or one one side or the other.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

When using both the FAX and COPY functions of the Canon Laserclass 710 the printed page shows a 2nd "ghosted" image of the primary image about half way down the page. We've tried a few adjustments but the...

Generally, when you have a ghosting problem, the issue is with the fusing unit. If you have a new fusing unit (or if you can get one) install the new unit and the problem should go away.

If you don't have access to a new fuser, you can try replacing the drum/imaging unit. Sometimes a ghosting problem can be caused by a bad cleaning unit (inside the imaging unit), but usually it's the fuser causing the problem.

What about the starter/developer last time its been changed? Upper fuser/fixing roller (Hot rollers) don't forget to clear counters once those parts are installed.

Printer is ghosting - I have changed power supply

Might be your transfer roller. I would try some laser cleaning paper and run that through a few times. If that doesn't work, I would purchase a fuser maintenance kit which will have the rollers as well as a new fuser.

Copies have ghost image

yes. although I would first check the fuser unit. It is located the exit side of the copier. let the copier cool down before handaling the teflon fuser roller. The upper roller has a teflon coating, if it is worn the image will not transfer properly to the paper thus leaving a duplicate / ghost image. Good luck

Konica 1015 copier with image ghosting problem

I hope the correct toner is in there.
It could be that the cleaning blade on the drum isn't working or the charge isn't working right.

Print quality

Ghosting can :
1-prints on the fuser roller, check if yes try cleaning it off, wait until it cools off

2-blanking lamps dirty or not working,(deletes image off the drum, before it gets ready to accept a new one)

BL mirror-(new image)

drum

3-Bad drum (although I doubt it this far in the process.)

Copier problem

1. If it doesn it when you print and copy then you have toner on the laser **** glass.

2. If it does it only when you scan then you might want to check for dust buildup on the mirrors or your laser is going bad. I dont think it's the laser though.

3. A bad drum can also cause ghosting and so can a bad fuser.

Suggestion: give it a good cleaning, check the drum and fuser for wear. Make a copy and print off the counter page or something. Compare the two.
