Intermintent picture TV picture will work fine then faint horizontal lines will cross screen and within a few minutes...no picture just audio. Sometimes TV works fine for a week or more and then starts misbehaving.

Check the horizontal output transistor this could be damage and causing the problem.another thing is pilot light that cause the screen to light up.since this is a projection t.v.it does not garry a tube.

I have a LG 60ls5750 television. On startup it works great, and then a minute later the picture feed is replaced with colored horizontal lines. Hate to scrap it as the rest of the TV seems solid.

If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Line, faults & possible causes to LCD screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault to an extent.

TH-42PX75U horizontal lines (flickering black and white)

The controller board for the screen is going bad. check shopjimmy.com for replacement parts. It's not a difficult job to do. Once the back of the TV is removed, you'll see it near the center of the screen.

Red/Orange horizontal lines

it could be that the tv convergence circuit is going bad. One shure way of finding out is to go to the tv feature menu(picture, audio etc.) and select the customer convergence setting, you should get a cross hair pattern(cross in middle of screen). that cross should be white and by aligning the red or blue colors they should move left, right, up or down

TV quits after a few minutes-get a blue screen, no picture and no audio

My best recommendation is to pull the back off it and blow the dust out. Dust is electrostatically attraced to the components inside and acts like a blanket. This causes overheating. Remember to leave your tv unplugged for at least an hour before taking the back off as the CRT (picture tube) will store a charge which can kill you.

Unknown model of panasonic tv problem with picture

Depending on age, it sounds as if picture tube has an intermintent short in the red gun. tap on the center of the screen to see if it goes away, if it does,I would strongly say that the tube is gone; but you could try openning it and check if the crt board is mounted on the tube's neck properly. do this at your own risk since you might get a shock if not familiar on how to handle tv's.

Faint horizontal lines in picture

This is usually caused by a problem in the Horizontal Output section, around the Horizontal Output transformer usually a capacitor or diode going or gone faulty... the line you see are the Horizontal "Retrace" lines that are useually "Hidden" when the circuit is OK..

Intermittent loss of picture

You'll have to locate the vertical output IC which should be mounted onto a heatsink, then take out a good magnifier under the printed circuit board and examine the solder connections on the pins of that IC and resolder the ones that are cracked.

Screen white tinted, horiz lines, then shuts off

Not acutally a solution. We are having this EXACT same problem; it started this week. Let us know what you are having done. I've called Toshiba and service reps but they are all quoting a price which is almost half the value of the tv. Have you been able to fix it? We are pretty upset since the 2year warranty recently expired. Obviously, it seems that others are having this problem as well. Email us: [email protected]
