I have a phillips 60" HDTV and when I switch it on the power light comes on and then it switches off. Sometimes I get some line across the screen but no picture and no sound.
Around the time this problem occured we had just installed
a ice maker fridge at home. I am not sure if something blew on the tv when this was installed since it take up a lot of voltage to operate.
Can you give me some advise.
I had the exact same problem. The TV has a protection Circuit which is stopping the TV being harmed by the incorrect setup.
I called a tech who charged me $100 bucks and let me watch how he fixed it.
He essentially pushed the 3 thick pink wires coming out of the Extra High Voltage transformer (EHT). No parts were required to be replaced.
Also, he said that the Lenses were messed up (i had tried to sharpen the image - my mistake) and due to that the convergence controller was throwing up a excessive sharp image error which was stopping the TV to show the image.
Its working just fine now.
I learnt that you should not change the mess with the TV unless its about time to Junk it. If its working, Take my advice, leave it as it is.

My name is Chris.
I have this Phillips Wide Screen TV that didn't have or come with a remote, so I had to go out and buy a universal remote for it today from a BIG W Store.
I'm having some technical difficulties & problems with switching and turning it on, but as I use the universal remote to turn on the TV, I'm having a bit of a slight problem with it turning it on, Ok, Yes, it works and Powers on, but there is nothing showing or giving me the indication that there is no picture or sound showing up on this Wide Screen Phillips TV, But there is a little red & green light at the bottome right hand corner that keeps on flashing red when ever I use the universal remote to switch the power on.
Is there a possibility, that i can get some help on here, to help me out with any suggestions, is to why I'm not getting any picture or sound showing up on this TV with this universal remote ?
Is there anyway that i can maybe get some help with this to help me out with solving my issue with the Phillips Wide Screen TV ?
I need to know first if your TV is on standby mode (red LED lit) or not?..If the green light lit your TV your high voltage (HV) is switch but you have open line on heater that cause of no picture and the sounds is chirping because of analog(antenna)/digital connection or bad audio chips..
I need this information above for specific diagnosis and to prevent more damage and failure..Also I need this information to avoid mistakes to buy a parts with no help...
also I need the model # because on my tread there are 2 model # which are correct? is it 60PP9202 60" or 55PP8620?..for specific diagnosis and for possible get a diagram..
power light keeps flashing and the tv won't turn on. If you unplug for a
minute and hit the power button it sound like it is coming on then it
shuts off and the red power light flashes slowly. The TV is a Panisonic
1080i HDTV, about 6-7 years old.
The TV needs to be connected to its tuner box in order for it to fire up properly. In fact, with the TV in standby (red light), by switching on the tuner box a control signal is sent up the cable and the TV switches on fully.
Replace the lamp would be the first thing to try. Lamp door switch on this model is notorious for going bad. If you replace lamp and still won't turn on jumper door switch. If you take off back you can see switch board.
the logic main board is not communicating with the power board. It may be dead. If so, it needs replaced. sometimes, wires may some loose and cause signal miscommunication. if u r tech savy, i recommend opening the system, then contact me 4 further instructions. t20torx bit, phillips screwdriver.
