Hi, I have a kohler confident 5 generator in my motorhome that won`t start, its has not been run for two years, it will start to run with a prime to the air cleaner and when the prime is used up it will stop.

Kohler generators feed the generated voltage back into the control circuit board to tell it to keep the fuel pump (electric) runing and the ignition on. IF there is no voltage generated (bad brushes or?) then the symptom you describe will occur. The motor runs fine, but it isn't generating electricity.

First thing is to check oil level as low oil pressure will shut it down.

sounds like a relay should be latching one it has started
