you need new convergence chips, they are 2 big chips screwed to the big heatsinks on the right of the tv lookin from the back, the part number is stk392-110.they need to be soldered in.
I would suspect the convergence IC's, to confirm this unplug the convergence yoke, all three. If TV comes on IC's are bad. Also, check the little green pico fuses. Good Luck, big IRISH.
Sorry Bud... It is dead, and would cost more to fix it then to buy a new one. And even if you got it fixed, something else will blow out on ya before to long, and most of those old parts are no longer made. Hey- it had a good long run of it's life, it's time to let go.
Good Day, deon453; Sounds like a convergence problem. Corrective Action:Replace the defective Convergence Output IC Part Number 23905094 (STK392-110) using the revised “T” version IC Part Number 23135090 (STK392-110T). When Convergence Output failure is detected, it’s recommended that both IC’s be changed to the “T” type IC version. Good Luck, Big Irish.
